This place sits right in the middle of a strip and if you’re not familiar with the area can be a little hard to find.Upon entering, it is a small restaurant and the sweet old lady welcomed us and I think she thought we were Vietnamese because she started speaking to us in Vietnamese. She showed us where the high chairs were and took our drink and food order all at once. The food did come out in a timely fashion with the stone soup pho coming out last still boiling.Fresh coconut juice: so good! Not too sweet and not too sour! It was perfect!Banh mi: 3/5, it was good but not that great.Chicken wings: 5/5, delish! Came out hot!Stone soup pho: 3/5, flavors weren’t all there but it wasn’t too bad. Fresh noodles were okay.Overall, the experience and food wasn’t too bad but not the best. The lady only came to us when we had food coming out and didn’t check up on us but that was okay because she already gave us a pitcher of water and cups. It was good but I don’t know if I would come back.
Great pho! The broth is savory, cuts of meat are quality, and a nice array of veggies. Great service in a solid location. Definitely recommend
I have ordered 4 times over 3 months and each time, the food was not good!!! I did not order any Pho but their vermicelli dishes and their wings were just awful. Seriously bad! Each time everything was way overcooked; soggy vermicelli, pork unrecognizable. Completely unrecognizable. The pork is cut super, super thin, a stick of gum is twice the thickness. It's way overcooked and rubbery and they put so much spice on it; i you cannot taste anything else or that it;s even pork. Who does that??!!! The vermicelli each time way overcooked and soggy that you cannot even eat it. Seriously this was not good at all! The salad was the only thing good but such a small portion. Again, every order!!! I will NOT eat here again and spent a lot more money to have it delivered. I do not sure why this place is getting high marks. Poor food. Getting two stars for portion and delivery.

Being on vacation, this is my first time here on a Tuesday evening, we placed an order for a bowl of Vietnamese sweet and sour soup (canh chua), it was missing sour and a hint of heat. Over fried yellowtail pompano. Over cooked beef with rice. Please DON’T put snails on the menu if u CAN’T properly clean the slime before cooking, but the coconut sauce was flavorful. The only dish we had was decent since we didn’t have anything else to compare it to, was the duck balut with a sauce. Rice wasn’t impressive at all sorry. Not a great way to waste $90 for dinner.
Quality pho place. Really missed the mark on the boba.We need a new pho place in Pinellas. And while there are many, we’re having a hard time finding one that’s any good or not getting shut down for health code violations. This place might be our new spot. It’s decent pho for an okay price and serves up some great rolls to go with it. Worse part, boba tea was b-a-d BAD. My fiancée got the boba, not really my thing, but even I know boba pearls shouldn’t be rock hard. But the waiter agreed with us and explained the “boba guy” wasn’t in that night. Guess you have been a chemist to boil boba pearls to make them soft. Oh well. I was there for the pho. Okay broth, noodles, and meat. Nothing incredible but I’ve had way worse and pricier places. We’ll be back for sure. Hopefully the boba guy is back too.
This authentic Vietnamese restaurant is a gem in a rock. Foods were great and owner is the most honest and caring lady we have met.
This wonderful little hidden gem is in a tiny strip plaza on 62nd Avenue. It is small and quaint, with Vietnamese decor and Vietnamese pop music playing in the background. The food is top-notch, with healthy combinations of meat, vegetables, and noodles seasoned with subtle spices. Dining at Ben Thahn is like an evening in Vietnam.
