Have been a long time Sonny's customer. This visit was very disappointing. First we tried to call from home to order but was immediately put on hold and forgotten so I hung up. Did not order online because we had questions about a dish. So we decided to drive there and order from the bar. Got the order, went home only to find none of the sides for the dinner were included, no napkins and all of the barbecue packets were stuck together and very sticky. Called the restaurant and was told they wanted me to speak to the manager. Placed on hold for a very long period so I hung up. 3 stars is strictly for the food which is always good, but the service tonight, not so much. First bad experience.

Pretty good. The only complaint is they gave us the wrong sides with our take out order. The food was good, and prices were also good. Just check your stuff if they are rushing a bit. Lol

What a hidden GEM! I had the cuban, and it was the most delicious sandwich ever! Our server Courtney was suggestive, friendly and prompt, and the manager was engaging with his patrons! All around, it was great food, service and atmosphere

Usually we have a great service but today the server completely forgot my dads food, never refilled our drinks, and we had to ask 3 different people for a to go box because when my dads food finally did arrive me and my mother were done eating and he didnt want to stay and eat. I hate to rate so low because like I said we usually have great service but today was horrible.

We have frequented Sonny's on 9th Ave for almost 40 years,. However, this was our first time back to Pensacola in two years. Upon arrival we found a complete re-decoration of the interior--a new, strange, post-modern, post apocalyptic black ceiling and top third of walls painted black. Personally, I found it industrial and depressing and a strange choice for a BBQ restaurant. We were there at 5 p.m. Two servers were working the entire dining room. Consequently, we encountered a long wait for our order to be taken and food to be served. So much waiting that we almost despaired of it ever coming. After we inquired as to the cause of the delay, food was finally brought to the table 30 minutes after our order was taken. Overall, it took 45 minutes from being seated to food being delivered to our table. Evidently, this location is severely understaffed both for service staff and kitchen professionals. Customer patience is required. If you are in a hurry and/or really hungry, then go elsewhere. Finally, the food was consistent with Sonny's long history---good comfort food, but in our judgment not worth the wait. We will be going elsewhere in the future.--no more Sonny's--end of an era for us.

I come here a few times a week to buy a few gallons of their Sweet Tea. I don't know what their secret is but they have by far the best Sweet Tea in the South. I've tried it at several other Sonny's Locations but none come close to the Sweet Tea here. Greatly Appreciated.

Always good food here. Been eating here for years, never a bad meal and staff always pleasant. Now the place is renovated and looks amazing!!

Out of town visitors looking for a casual and familiar place for dinner on a Sunday night. Read the reviews and who knows maybe it was an off night but the place was almost empty except for all those dirty tables throughout the restaurant. Heard multiple other guests being apologized to for a little bit of everything. From poor service and cold food temperature to the tv and credit card service not working. In spite of the lack of guests at the time, our meals came out haphazardly and not hot at all, even our softdrink orders were messed up. Please teach your staff that it's okay to bus their own tables ie remove empty plates. Go somewhere else, or whatever you do, don't use the restrooms they were filthy from walls to floors without exaggeration.

We ordered the pulled pork egg rolls & 2 of the samplers. Everything was wonderful. My favorite was the egg rolls!!

Got ignored by host when we walked in. Waited 10 minutes to be seated. Waited about 15 at table and never had a server come over. People got seated after us and we're greeted by a sever right away. Place is under renovation. Not even crowded on a Sunday afternoon at 1:30. We left.
