I took my 3 oldest kids to play here this morning. We booked online with an app, and we're pleasantly surprised when we checked in because they said they had a better rate for us. Carts were really nice, and they were equipped with GPS that included yardage to the pin placement of the day. The course was beautiful with a lot of terrain changes. There are a lot of houses, and that made me nervous considering I was playing with three kids; but there were no issues. Although it was a Tuesday morning, the drink cart was out, and she rolled past us three times during our 9 holes. All in all, it was a perfect day on a great course. I highly recommend it!
Staff was super friendly and nice! Club rentals are awesome but, course is in terrible shape. There's sand in the middle of the fairway. Club house is really nice and upkept. I'm looking forward visiting again most likely in the fall to compare course conditions.
Course is in good shape right now. Greens are nice and filled in....a little grown out today but they were having a tourney. Some of the best conditions I've seen at Scenic in a while!
As always, Scenic Hills Country Club is a fantastic destination for both the amateur and for the more refined golfers. The course itself is well maintained, while being enjoyable and challenging. And the restaurant and bar are fine establishments, with the staff being top notch, and the food and menu delicious. The owners are friendly, approachable and accessible. Scenic Hills - a fine place to golf, then relax and enjoy a meal and a beverage.
We had a dinner at the Grill at Scenic Hills Country Club. The food was very good and very reasonable! It was wonderful to go out with friends and snd be able to to talk and not feel hurried. The service was outstanding and friendly. We will be back!
A few years ago the food was excellent. I understand the prices have gone up everywhere with fuel increases etc., but $15 for burger? It better be McGuires quality for that price and its not even close (McGuires charges $15 also).Bring Jesse back to the kitchen. The venue for events is beautiful. If Jesse is in charge of the food you won't be disappointed.
I played the course on Tuesday of this week....Since I was one of the first out for the AM, the pace of play was FAST....just the way I like it...The greens and aprons were in excellent shape...I am sure the fairways and bunkers will be when the weather decides to cooperate as well...its been real rainy and cool...Bermuda grass needs that heat...and bunkers don't need Mother Nature to water them...The staff was GREAT...from the cart guy, the two guys in the pro shop....and the starter. I would have given the course a 5 star rating had the bunkers and fairways would have been better...BUT THEY WILL GET THERE..Again, can't say enough great things about the staff and LOVE the layout......once my wife and I move to Pensacola, this will most likely be my home course...
Was looking forward to playing this course. Been a little while. I’ve lived in this area my whole life. Not sure if I will go back. First the bad news. It’s a tough course still. So be prepared. That being said some people are faster than others. Golf can be a slow game when playing a round and most people know that. However with 3 holes left in our round. One of the Marshals asked me if I could pick up the pace and there were 3 groups backed up behind us. I said yeah sarcastically, he then said thank you and drove off. We were on the green and no one was waiting in the fairway on 15 I can tell you. Beyond rude and unprofessional. Not a fan of slow play either but with three holes left seriously? Way too late to be doing that. On a Monday no less at mid afternoon with no tournament going on. We had let a group go by earlier in the round. I understand golf etiquette but this was uncalled for. I complained to the manager after the round. So beware everyone. Also beware of the 15th hole after the tee box. Bridge being worked on is very dangerous. Lots of construction going on. Now the good news. Carts are brand new. Very comfortable seats. Everyone else was very nice except for the one Marshal. It’s a cool course layout. Clubhouse is immaculate and pro shop is very nice. Greens were great. Fairways and tee boxes were just ok. Overall however I thought the course was overpriced for a Monday 10:30 tee time. $110 dollars for two people with cart and range balls. As well as an extra $20 spent on concessions. Disappointed and not sure if I will return for awhile.
Played a full round and had a pretty good experience. Be prepared to hit a few private yards or roofs if not playing fairly straight as the homes are closer than most fairways that I’ve played. Fairly easy to find balls in the rough and on edges. A couple really nice layouts, but the greens were a little weedy causing lots of ball hops during putts.
Excellent tacos for Tuesday taco night! And, a wonderful, relaxing and welcoming setting. Will return for sure!
