Ordered the brisket melt. It was okay. There was no sauce on it and there was too much cheese. The whole thing was pretty much just grease. It melted through the plastic box they served it in. The fries were really good though.Their "poutine fries" are just fries that they hand you a cup of brown gravy for. No cheese curds. Tasty, but a letdown.
I love finding hidden treasures like this restaurant! My Cajun Philly was fantastic!!! I also highly recommend a piece of cheesecake for dessert. Add the friendly staff and you've got a great experience.
Not sure how this place has such great reviews, but it's not that great -- not even good. The kids chicken tenders were left uneaten by 2 of 3 kids who ordered them (the third kid was just really hungry), the fries were covered in a blanket of salt, making them hard to eat as well. My fried shrimp po-boy was OK, but nothing special. I like to try new places while in Perdido Key, but this one was a mistake. I won't be coming back.
I placed an online order at 3:30pm on 7/7/22, and it said they were open until 7pm. I arrived to get my order at 4:30, which is when they said it would be ready, only to be greeted by a sign that says “closed for the week”. They have already taken my $37 out of my bank, and it won’t be refunded until the next day they’re open. Not very professional on their part.
The food here was good, not outstanding. I had a Cuban sandwich. It was good, just not great. My husband had ordered red beans, but the waitress came to tell us they were out of them, so he got gumbo instead. My son had ordered poutine. Again the waitress came out to tell us they were out of cheese curds for the poutine, but offered other cheeses to substitute. The prices here are reasonable though. I would give them another try next time we are in town.
My sister and I went in last Saturday May 21st at 6:00 PM or so and had already placed an order pick-up. We decided to get coconut pie. There were a couple of slices missing and we asked for the remainder of the pie and were refused. The girl behind the counter said they won't have any left for the rest of the day. She said there were five slices left. We told her we will buy all five slices; the entire pie. Still refused to sell it. Amazing!! Some very tall guy walks up and asked what's the problem. She told them, and he said nothing and looked away. Maybe they wanted it for themselves. I thought they were in business to sell not pick and chose how much. My sister couldn't even buy a slice for her husband at home. What idiots!! Never have I ever been denied to buy something because there wouldn't be any left for other customers. First come first serve. If there's a true reason for it, we don't know. The food is usually good but the ribs were tough this time. Sadly, for all this, the pie wasn't all that. I've had much better.
Great food, nice people, clean place to eat lunch, Had a french dip poboy (with fresh, Real New Orleans french bread, makes all the difference) and it was outstanding.The best I have ever had. It made me do this review.The places that go to the trouble to get Liedermans french bread from New Orleans everyday know what a difference it makes.
My wife and I shared a brisket melt for lunch. It was simply delicious. Service was quick, price was reasonable, and food was outstanding. Menu has so many great options, we may eat lunch there for the rest of our stay here.
Sorry I would like to say I had a good experience. The food was good, at least the ribs were when they actually had sauce. We placed a to go order and I didn’t check it well. There was no sauce and no pie. They apologized and I went back the next day. Only gave exactly what was left off. I ordered a side and another pie so we could eat the ribs we got the night before, only $7 worth. I thought it might be really nice for them to offer but no I paid for that too. Hope you have better luck if you go. The service sucked for us!
