I went to Pasquale’s Pizza in Pembroke Pines, Florida on 7/17/2022. I ordered a large veggie pizza which costs about 30 dollars. I only ate two slices because the food was making me feel sick. I almost immediately had a headache and I still have a headache as I am typing this a day later. There was almost no sauce on the pizza. The sauce did not taste good. The pizza had a lot of cheese. It had so much cheese that the sauce was not visible on it. That is partly due to there being almost no sauce, but they put a thick layer of this cheese which I do not believe is 100% cheese. My reasoning is why would a restaurant give you so much cheese unless you are paying for extra cheese? Real 100% cheese is expensive, especially these days. My mom took a bite of the pizza and she also believes that it is not 100% cheese. I believe that is what made me have a headache. The pizza tasted bland except for the veggies. I called Pasquale’s to complain which I usually never do. If I don’t like a restaurant, I usually just stop going. However, I feel that the truth needs to be told in this instance. I talked to the manager and said that the food is horrible. He replied “Does it make you feel good to say that?” I was surprised by his remark. I didn’t expect that. I was just being honest. He also said that he never heard of someone getting a headache from eating a pizza. I’m being honest about that. As I stated, I only ate two slices and I had to throw the rest away. If I ate anymore of it, I would have felt worse. The manager verified that I had bought the pizza the day before and I still have my receipt. However, the manager did not want to hear any more of my complaining and decided to hang up the phone. If I was to rate their pizza, it would be a zero out of ten. It was the worst pizza I have ever eaten and one of the worst foods I have ever eaten. I never asked for my money back. As an Italian American, I feel that their food is a poor representation of what Italian food is supposed to be. I was not expecting the best pizza in the world or nation, but I was expecting a good pizza based on the positive online reviews and a co-worker of mine recommended the restaurant to me. I had been to Pasquale’s before and had the spaghetti. I noticed that the sauce was not good on the spaghetti. However, I thought maybe the sauce they use on the pizza would be different. I now believe that it is the same kind of sauce (probably from a can), but they use very little of it on the pizza. For a restaurant that seems to cut corners, it is highly unlikely to me that the thick layer of cheese on the pizza that I ordered was 100% cheese.
I hate that it took us so long to find this place. The hubby is certain my sis told him about this place. If so, THANK YOU SIS!! Unlike NY pizza parlors, this place is huge. Some of the many tables (maybe 8 or 9. NY has mayb 1 or none), are a bit beat up & have been taped up a bit here & there, but no worries. The pizza more than makes up for that. In addition, they sell beer & wine! Say what now?! Not in NY. I admit I was a bit discouraged when we first entered as the cashier was asleep at the door (literally asleep), & nobody wore a mask. Covid is still here & now we also have to protect against freaking Monkey Pox. 2hell w/DeSantis, MASK UP guys!! We ordered the 2slice combo which got us a regular slice, a Sicilian slice & a fountain drink. When the pizza was ready, I went 2collect the parmesan cheese, garlic powder & crushed red pepper shakers. There was no garlic shaker so, I asked @ the counter for it. I was told that people keep stealing the garlic shakers & was given 2little plastic cups w/a bit of garlic powder in them. O.K. Strange thing 2steal. The pizza - YUMMM! NY like 4sure. I can't w8 2go back. Mayb I'll call sis. Btw, the ladies' room was clean & I love the sink style.
We normally dine in and have done so on several occasions. Tonight we arrived 25 minutes before closing and we told they would not allow us to dine in at that time since they were short staff. Offered us to carry out or dine outside at dark patio area. It was a large group of us 13 total. We decided to leave disappointed. The garlic knots are great and we have tried several pizza on prior occasions. Not sure if this is a one off bad night but surely did leave a bad taste.
Really good! Pizza was great. Lunch specials are great. Pasta was great (lacking a little salt though). Will definitely come again. Super clean and attractive location. Considerate staff too.
Should definitely encourage everyone to visit!!!!! The staff, food and especially Steph have been amazing !!!! I come in she knows me by my first name and my order! They make me a custom pie that I would get in NJ and it reminds me of home!! Ask Steph for a bar pie and it will not disappoint!!!
The pizza is excellent. But more importantly the service is family. Stephanie makes you feel like family. Italian Restarante lack this one ingredient, but not here.. Stephanie is the heart of this restaurant.
The food was great and the service was excellent. The girl behind the counter I believe her name was Stephanie was very polite and quick with the service. Will definitely be coming back!
Amazing pizza. Thick pieces of sausage and pepperoni. Pretty tasty. Clean place.
Stephanie is such a sweet person and always treats us as as kind as she would her friends. She talks to us and checks on us daily and always has a positive thing to say. This makes our experience at pasquales more enjoyable.
during my experience of attending the school nearby the restaurant, the manager (young woman with dark hair) was always very rude and unmanageable. we had a code red threat and many children ran across the street to take shelter and they closed the door on our faces and wouldn’t let us in for safety. I will not support that restaurant anymore specially with all the income they get from us students and The rude and disgusting behavior we get in return for supplying them with their money.
