The hospitality here is terrible. Becarful they try to charge you what they want to charge you (they make prices up) .very unprofessional business they should be reported to the BBB.
Extremely over price , and they don't show some prices ( carne asada ) $18 plus the queso frito $3 and they also charge for paying with debit card !!! Service is good !!!
Been here before and gave them 5 stars , went this time with my son and my father and they left us sitting there with no menu completely ignored us and helped other people that came in after us we tried to get their attention they acted like we didn't exist , I'm a loyal customer that always tips well , never coming back .
They sell Cacao by the gallon which I love the taste but they don't even sell the actual whole gallon. They don't fill up the gallon. You end up paying $27 for less than a gallon. too much $$ to not fill up.
For the same price and larger portions try Pinolandia without a doubt. However if you want to sit down or take mom to a familiar lunch spot, hormiga de oro feels like the cafe your tia works at and she always treats you real nice while you're there. The juices and cacao taste fresh and you can buy them by the gallon.
I asked for 5 nacatamales and it took half an hour to complete the order, and I asked them for COLD nacatamale; they just have to take it out of the fridge and put it in plastic bag. And it wasn't busy, and don't know why they took forever, bad services at all!!! Bad staff coordination..?
I used to dine in this place for years. On my recent experience I was overcharged. I ordered the carne asada and they charged it as Churrasco. On top of that, they added a service charge plus tip. The food was good, but is not worth the price. You tricked me once, but not twice. See the pictures for reference.

I don't like the fact that they add a service charge on the bill and when I ask about it the waitress got upset. She said it was the tip, but at the same time they give you a receipt and on the button it has another space to add the tips. Double tip?? That's wrong.
