We came to eat dinner and were seated immediately with no wait! We ate outside overlooking marina. Our server was very attentive and our food was impeccable! I ate the filet and it was cooked to perfection. We also had the calamari appetizer and it was equally delicious! We will definitely be back!
We had crab cakes and prime rib. Both were very very good!!!
love the shrimp boat burger! best burger ever I have had nothing but good experiences. definitely our vacation stop spot everytime. Toni has a outstanding personality and gives the best service
Tonight was our first visit to The Shrimp Boat and I was thoroughly impressed. I ordered one of the specials - Grilled Swordfish, mushroom risotto, asparagus and carrots. My meal was EXCELLENT. As a matter of fact, it is undoubtedly the best meal I've had on the Florida panhandle in a long, long time. It was really by accident that we ended up at The Shrimp Boat because we had originally decided to dine at another nearby restaurant, but another couple in our party mentioned that they had not been here in many years. Everyone at our table had a great meal but I think my swordfish was the star of the evening. I can definitely say that this is one place that will be added to my "must dine here" list. I just wish I had made a photo of my plate because it was as beautiful as it was tasty.
The food was good. I had the scallops with spinach and my husband had the backed jalapeno oysters. The bread you got before the meal was deliciously hot and fluffy, if tiny, which isn't the worst thing so you can't fill up on it. We also got the crab claw appetizer which was very good. Everything was served hot, or at the very least warm (truly hot scallops are next to impossible, so no knocking them for that one). My husband enjoyed his cocktail (Friends of St. Andrews, or something like that), and i had a generous pour of the Riesling. The only thing that was a little off-putting was that the portion of scallops was small (I had 5 on my plate) and the "bacon butter" really just seemed like plain butter with the scrapings from the pan. It was tasty, don't get me wrong! It was just... small for a dinner portion. There really wasn't a lot of spinach either, although I know that cooks down a lot, so there was probably more than I realized. As for the rest of our experience, the front of house staff was a little pushy and, to be honest, our waitress was a little rude. I felt very rushed to order and, considering it was our first time there, which no one bothered asking, no one made any recommendations, nor did they even let us know what the specials were. The only reason we even knew there were any was the sign when you first walked it, but we were rushed to our table so quickly that we didn't get a chance to read it. I will say though that, since it was so empty when we went to sit down, the hostess did ask if we'd like a window view or to sit elsewhere. The atmosphere also was a little confusing, honestly. The plate presentation had a very "nice restaurant" feel as did the overall place settings, but the mediocre lounge singer was a little weird and where she was situated made it difficult to get to your table. Additionally, the front of house staff was dressed very casually for the vibe and reputation that this place has. Actually I'm pretty sure I have the same pair of scrub pants that one of the girls had on. Yes, you read that right. I'm pretty sure one of the hostesses was in scrubs and a t-shirt. It could be because we went for an earlier dinner, but it felt like they really catered to the older, local crowd too. The waitresses actually bothered to stop at their tables and engage them instead of trying to get away as fast as she could and get them out as quickly as possible, like it felt with us. Overall, the food was good, but I'm not sure it's worth the hype or the price.
What an Amazing place! The food & service were wonderful! Our waitress Christine was super! The ambiance is to die for. On the bay, with the most scenic, romantic & peaceful views. We sat out on the deck & watched the sunset. Everything was so good but the bacon wrapped shrimp…oh my! Loved it, gonna be a new fav! If you are looking for something a little more “date night” but won’t break the bank…you gotta give The Shrimp Boat Restaurant” a try!
This was our 2nd time trying this restaurant. We like that they have outdoor seating...due to covid. Our server was very good. The shrimp basket was ok. The oysters were way too salty. None of it was impressive. Sorry but we probablywon't be back

Excellent food and great atmosphere!
It has been a few years since going here to eat, so we thought we would try again. Unfortunately they are still under staffed, but we understand that's the way it is in alot of restaurants. I ordered crab cakes. They were okay, not bad but not great. My husband ordered fish and chips, and his meal was good. So overall I would give it 3.5 stars, but not 4.
