I used to go to Jesse’s once or twice a week for lunch. It was like mama’s cooking. Unfortunately, they sold it and although they say it’s the same recipes, it’s not the same taste. Service was also much better under the previous owners. That’s all I got to say about that.
Today was my first time to visit Jesse’s Place. I had heard how good the food is/was. Not knowing at the time that it has been under new ownership since November. The food was not good but we were trying to eat it anyway until we observed our server running her fingers through her hair and then wiping her shoe/toes with her hand before sorting silverware. We quickly paid and left. We will not be back.
We decided to stop by before we left town and I am sure glad we did! We met some really great people while we had breakfast with our family. Our servers insisted we stayed even though they didn’t have a item on the menu we wanted.. I was not fascinated with the food. It was mediocre. If it wasn’t for the staff I wouldn’t be back!! Not tourist friendly. When we walked in we were immediately taken back by the waitress. She was annoyed with our group size (6 adults and 2 kids) and told us we had to sit separately because we had two checks. 2 of which are are picky kids so we had grabbed them breakfast next door. We had 6 hungry adults and told us we couldn't have any outside food. Super loudly because we had brought in the kids breakfast( in unmarked packaging) Which had gotten the rooms attention. We were so embarrassed.It could have been handled differently in my opinion. We had already ordered juice and coffee by the time we were told. I offered to pay for it and left.
We look forward to visiting Jesse's yearly at PCB. In fact, it WAS one of our favorites, but NOT now. Today was such a disappointment, the food was terrible and the waitress was running her fingers through her hair and then proceeded to sort silverware. We did not eat our food, it was so bad and paid immediately and found out it was under new ownership. We will not be back!
A friend had been to Jesse’s Place before and highly recommended it. However, we didn’t realize that it is now under new management. I can honestly same this was not only the worst food I have ever had but service too. At that point we paid and left. Needless to say we will never be back.
I do not recommend. Avocado toast was cold with almost no avocados. Whole hog burrito was something you might find in a kids meal at taco bell. Potatoes were straight out of the frozen bag and were cooked a few hours before.Not sure how the place has such high Google rating. Don't be fooled like we were.
Food wasn’t very good and was pricey for what u get. Do not get the shrimp and grits or avocado toast. Not impressed at all. Surprised at all the good reviews.
Back at jesses place under new ownership still same great food wife’s county fried chicken biscuits with gravy was great as was My blueberry pancakes
Our party of 4 enjoyed breakfast at Jesse's Place on March 16, 2022. The restaurant was clean and decor was cheerful. We were acknowledged as we came through the door as every group was during our stay. Staff was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. We were seated promptly, given menus, and our drink order was taken. Our food arrived in good time, was prepared as ordered, and was delicious. The small town atmosphere was a nice contrast to the chain restaurants in the area. We will definitely return; maybe for lunch next time.
