I like to visit right after they put out the lunch food. There are different plate prices depending on how many times you return to the buffet. There is a salad bar for the healthy people. There are lots of cook vegetables but I am fairly sure they've been seasoned with some pork which makes them taste good. I particularly like their fried chicken. I'll admit to being one of those who likes to wait for fresh fried chicken right off the top when it's super crispy. They have great desserts. This place is not fancy. I like to get the plate where I can have multiple trips so that I can put my cooked vegetables apart from my crispy items so that the juices don't run together. They don't mind at all. I've read some of the reviews but notice that people who ranked it low may not necessarily had very many ratings. This is a locals' place and may not be for a person who has not learned to appreciate Southern cooking. The worst thing that has ever happened here to me was eating lunch here the same week as Thanksgiving which made my home cooked personal Thanksgiving lunch disheartening.
This place is truly awesome with the at home atmosphere and the good ole country cooking. You can’t help but feel full and happy by time you leave! Food is always good and service is even better!
I was not impressed with the quality and taste of any of the meat selection at all. The sides and service was fantastic with very friendly staff.Update..I returned to Granny Cantrell's and was delighted to see a much more appealing meat selection. The side are ALWAYS amazing as is the service. Highly recommend for Lunch.
Went here for the first time today with my family. I highly recommend going somewhere else to eat. Food was old and dry looking. We tried to eat what looked okay but was disappointed and not able to eat it. We were in the place for maybe 15 minutes you could see the plates on the table were not eaten at all. I was told by the waitress I still had to pay it was their policy. I never in my life had to pay for food that we didn't eat ever!. There was 7 of us 5 kids who didn't eat at all. My son left he didn't even make a plate. I am pretty upset and will make sure to avoid this place. It is a shame.
My wife, son and myself ate there last night. The waitress was friendly. I wish I could remember her name. She took good care of us. Nice little buffett we will plan to eat there again. We plan to try them for breakfast if we are ever in the area at that time. We live a little over an hour from PC. we wanted something different. It was worth the drive. I liked the peach cobbler.
The tables were close together and someone spilled their drink and some splashed on my spouse. The food was ok but it was not like advertised. I have had good hometown country cooking and nowhere was it country cooking accept for the gravy. But country fried steak is served with pepper gravy not that thick slab of lard brown gravy that they had. You had to dust food off the plates B4 using them I just searched for a clean plate. I figured that since it was close to the food maybe that was why it had food on the plates. When I got home I became very ill and wasn't able to get rid of the pain in my stomach until I expelled all the contents of my stomach. I will not eat here in the future.
Super amazingly friendly staff. Just great!The food was OK. I asked if one particular item in the meal was cooked or not and they, trying to be super helpful made sure it was. If it wasn't I would have asked it removed. It was not what I asked and being dead tired and starving was too polite to say this otherwise tbh was drenched in butter and left me a bit queezy. They 100% meant well. Amazing staff really great atmosphere will return
Foods pretty good but it's a buffet. Don't expect more than that. I see no reason not to go here other than overeating. Enjoy your buffet.
Fantastic place to enjoy some delicious down home cooking! I have ZERO complaints about the food. However, our waitress could have been more attentive (& that's putting it nicely). Would still DEFinitely recommend the place tho!
The food is Slop. The area is Nasty. The staff is Sorry, Pitiful. Just Plain SLOP!!!Do NOT Waste Your Money Here. I would Eat Out Of A Bean Can Before I Would Eat Here Again. THE MOST TERRIBLE PLACE I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE!!!
