This place was awesome. Went today with the family an had a great meal. The food was delicious and the portions were good sized. Our waiter was the best, I can’t remember his name except “the Cajun guy”. He made our time there great and made sure we had everything we needed an we will definitely be coming back asap. Skip the long lines at the more famous places an eat here at a more authentic smaller restaurant with no wait time either. 5 stars all around.
The wait was about 50 minutes, but it was Saturday night. Staff wasn’t super friendly, but did make sure that we were taken care of throughout our meal. The food was great and there was a good menu selection. Would eat here again.
The first night we went, the food was excellent, service not so much. Took 15 min to get my honey mustard for my tenders. The food was so good we decided to go a second time for all you can eat shrimp on Sundays. After an hour wait to get in, we waited another 30 min for food. My husband and son got the all you can eat shrimp, they were brought one plate and told she already put in a reorder. I had tenders again and asked for honey mustard. Waitress never returned with honey mustard (we never saw much of her) I had to stop her after about 20 min to ask if she forget, she said “yes.” My tenders were cold at this point as we sat under a fan outside. This this time she refilled drinks and we didn’t see her again. Told the family their shrimp should be out shortly but brought 3 bowls and said “here’s these for now.” All in all, paid $20 for all you can eat shrimp, received one plate and 3 additional small bowls. We finally got some help from a manager who brought more shrimp and discounted the meals by $4 and didn’t charge for drinks. I won’t go back on an all you can eat night.
Quick, efficient and decent food with amazing staff. We’d go again. Not gourmet but decent. Oh, and the hot sauces is great!!
Great choice for a nice seafood dinner while in PCB. Fried shrimp, fried oysters, stuffed crab. Blackened, fried, & cajun bite size shrimp, and seafood queso were ALL delish!!!!
My po’boy was a lil po’er than most... missing a piece of chicken and super light on the Mayo. It was only ok. My sweet potato fries were tasty but soft with no crisp. The fully loaded potato salad was great and the service terrific. Quick, efficient and appropriately attentive. Convenient but I wouldn’t make a special trip for it.
There we 8 of us and a baby. Very accomodating. The food was great and we had exellent service. Wednesday is all you can eat popcorn shrimp...the waitress just kept bringing us refills! She answered all our questions very graciously. We had a bad experience last night at another place and The Shrimp Basket restored our faith. Shrimp Basket is very affordable! We all agreed that we would deffinitely go back!
Dined midweek without reservations and were seated promptly. My wife had the fried seafood platter (oysters, shrimp, fish, crab cakes) and all were very tasty. I had the special of the night, swordfish with side salad and baked potato. It had good flavor, was served hot and well prepared. We had a good view of the harbor and watched ships come in. We decided to dine indoors, thinking it may be too cool for outside dining only to be seated directly under a ceiling fan making for a very cold dining experience. Service was attentive and atmosphere was good . Prices were moderate for the meal.
I enjoyed my lunch so much, I went back the next day. Located across the street from the gulf (you can catch glimpses of it from the outdoor patio), this place also has indoor seating. Prices were comparable and in some cases better ($3.99 for a glass of wine!) Each time, the host/hostess and all wait staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Jesse is an OUTSTANDING server. Portions were good, food was very good and they had good variety on the menu. Welcoming vibe. If I end up back that way, I'd visit again!
While on our drive to PCB, my wife was googling restaurants and she came across The Shrimp Basket. Sounded good to her, and I was tooling around and saw it this morning, so guess where we wound up tonight! The dinner was great, I had the Blackened Redfish. It was great. Wifey had the combo basket with flounder and shrimp. She enjoyed hers as well. Our guests enjoyed theirs's as well. We really enjoyed our server (Tina), who made great suggestions and too great care of us. It is funny how a great server adds so much to a good meal. Can't wait to see her next year when we return!
