From start to finish, had a great experience. Our waiter, Grant, was awesome. His recommendations were perfect. Shrimp tacos were excellent. My parents both had the fish basket and my 90 year old dad ate every bit of fish!
We tried 3 different tacos and they were fabulous! Great atmosphere and great service!
Great service! Our waiter was Shaun and was really on the ball, a lot of fun and took such good care of us! Food was excellent!!
Came to celebrate my husband 50th birthday. We come to PCB each year and it’s our tradition to always visit Runaway Island. Tonight service was exceptional as in past times. I was not originally pleased with the salmon special however my server instantly replaced my meal. My husband and I were grateful to call this place our second home away from home. A big thank you to my waiter tonight “Houston” for being such a delightful, respectful, patience, and funny waiter. We need more servers like you. Until next year, thank you all!
Great lunch, shrimp tacos were fantastic. Very kind, genuine service. Got there right at 11 am and sat immediately. Maybe crazier later but pretty calm vibe when we were there.
This is our go to as we are headed back out of town. The spring roll app is great. I get the parmesan crusted flounder. Amazing. Only negative is if you sit outside the servers might forget about you
Got seated waited 30 minutes for the waitress to take our order, then an hour and a half for food to arrive. I ordered a chicken taco which came to me cold with frozen cheese in the middle. Husband ordered a fried shrimp meal which had only a few very small shrimp in it that were obviously had been frozen before not fresh. Not Happy!
While in the mood for seafood on the beach, we decided for something close by our resort. Runaway Island has been spotted as a passing glance over the years, we finally chose this local spot for a quick lunch.Service was pleasant and cheerful. We were seated within 5 minutes of entering the restaurant. Chose to eat inside due to the weather turning pretty hot during lunchtime. Our waitress Rochelle was very nice and took our order very efficiently. We ordered the crab cakes and shrimp dip to start our meal, followed by the lobster ravioli. Everything tasted pretty good, the dip had a burnt top that grew on me at the end. Lobster ravioli could've used more sauce, it got a little dry once the last pieces were left. Other than that, very good meal.My only thing, which is why I gave 4 stars, was that you could hear a lot of the conversations coming from the kitchen. Some of the things we heard weren't exactly 'awful' but definitely not family friendly, especially when were sitting by a family with small children. Although the family didn't say anything, but we could see the look on their face when they did hear some of the things said.If anyone is looking for a close, local spot with good seafood eats, I'd say this is a great choice. Prices were reasonable, and the food came out pretty quickly too. Definitely would recommend!
Food was on point. Really delicious. The place as a whole could use some work. Where we sat the booth was torn and pretty warm. Which is understandable because it was close to the doors to the patio. The windows were pretty nasty. Had handprints all over the glass door. My plastic cup of water had white gunk on the inside of it and the plate they brought our appetizer out on was chipped pretty good. But our waitress was great and so was the food.
Bummed that we couldn’t sit outside as the host told us it would be a 30 minute wait but the people behind us got seated outside ASAP. But the delicious food somewhat made up for missing the beautiful sunset. Portion sizes a bit small for the price & don’t forget they charge a tourist fee which I didn’t see posted anywhere. Our waiter was fabulous & very polite. I had the special & it was spot on, cooked perfect & my husband had the swordfish it was good but about half the size you would get at other restaurants.
