Excellent food. Service was good. Wait was long, but expected. They have a kid area right inside there restaurant door w/ tv’s, toys, & colors. Kept the kids busy while we waited on food. During our wait we sat outside and our kiddos played on the dolphin & shark they have. My kids had grilled cheese and fries, husband and I had boiled shrimp (hot) he got mashed potatoes with his I ordered fries. Everything had a great flavor. Will be back laid back atmosphere.
Kudos from Kentucky. The food was plentiful, very tasty and surprisingly reasonable priced. We had the fried flounder basket, cheeseburgers, chicken strips, and the Greek salads. Oh, the best hush puppies I have ever had, and I am particular about my hush puppies, Flippin awesome!
Our waitress Samantha was so sweet. She treated us with her biggest smile. My daughter had the crab legs and she said they were the best she ever had. The fried fish and shrimp was not to heavily breaded so you could really enjoy the fresh catch taste. I wish my husband and I had shared. Very large portions and the the best prices we’ve paid all week for food. Nothing has compared to this meal all week! We will definitely be back
The place is kinda small so the wait was extensive. Once we got seated we ordered food and drinks right away and it took forever to get our food. Now then, when we got our order it was correct and hot. The waitress worked hard and the service was good.

J. Michael’s Restaurant, thank you! We finally found a restaurant where we can get great service and amazing food! We got plenty of food for the price we paid and we enjoyed the food. We will add J. Michael’s Restaurant to our list of favorites that we will return to time and time again!
Fried Shrimp Basket is a must get! Everything our family ordered was great and we left nothing behind. We even ordered colored greens to go to have later in our weeks stay. Service is great and all employees were friendly and helpful. We make sure to go back each year!
This is a rustic bar-style eatery. Not fancy, very casual, and the food is outstanding. The fried seafood is Calabash-style, with a light crunchy crust and perfectly cooked meat. There is definitely a Cajun flair going on, and the servings are enormous. We live here - yay us! - and love J. Michael's.
Service, atmosphere and food was all very good. It 's been a few years since we last visited and it was nice to see things have not changed. Fish, burgers or fresh catch, they do it all. If your worried about covid, stay home and if you have been here before, it's still the same place seating and all.
Just driving around looking for a place to eat and we pasted this place and the VW caught our eye. Decided to try it out. LOVED it. We were there a little early on a Friday night (5pm) so we didn't have to wait. Decor is fun (lots of funny license plates, dollar bills, guns, surfboards and fish hanging off the walls and windows. Wait staff very casual and super nice and sweet. I had the fried fish and it was perfect. Not greasy, and it came with fries, hushpuppies and coleslaw. I washed it down with a yummy Pina Colada. Hubby had a open faced roast beef sandwich with grilled onions, cheese and gravy. Bread was fresh and the beef was delicious. We would definitely go back again.
