We have been to High Jackers before we was always good. Service has been questionable but we ate there tonight and the food was horrible. We ordered nachos for appetizer they were the worst thing I ever ate. The chips we so salty you couldn’t eat them there was more chunks of large onions then cheese and big chunks of hamburger not chop meet and that’s it. Disgusting ? I am done with that place. Everything has gone down hill since covid especially High Jackers.
We enjoyed our first visit to HJR today after recommendation from friends. The nice lady that took our order is so appreciated with her smile and kind words. Food (Cali wrap) Fantastic, Cuban sandwich husband said “ok” would have rather had on Cuban bread than French bread. Will be back!
Service was horrible. Waitress would disappear for long periods and they weren't even busy. Ordered 2 different drinks that they couldn't make because they didn't have the ingredients. And they now charge a 4% fee for using a credit or debit card. Won't be returning.
Just left there. The wait staff was excellent. They are not responsible for terrible food. Drinks were great. Fried pickles were excellent. Entrees were not edible. Could be a neat place. Such a great atmosphere. Shrimp was grey and filet was over cooked. Fish and potatoes were cold to the touch. I feel bad for the wait staff. We watched some tables stiff them. Now I know why.
Great spot for lunch. Clean dining room and restroom, friendly staff. I got the Filet Tip Sandwich and it was awesome! The bread in particular was fantastic and their homemade kettle chips were delicious. Will rerurn.
Interesting....my first review of this place disappeared somewhere. My wife and I have been going here for 10 years, yes 10 years. We went a couple of months ago around 4:30pm. Place had a lot of cars in the parking lot apparently had some function in the back, but the restaurant wasn't busy. First off, we sat in a booth near the bar nobody even acknowledged us, waiters and waitress went by and by. The girl working the bar ( younger girl with glasses who is usually waitressing), was too buys eating a fruit salad and flirting with the customer at the bar to even bother with us. We sat and sat until I finally said the heck with it and we walked out. Even the kitchen crew saw us sitting there....nobody did anything. Haven't been back since...may not ever go back.. As a local, don't appreciate being treated like that and ignored. Not sure what's going on here but the time before this our service was almost non existent, had 3 different people, one took order, one brought order, another helped us when we were done. This place has gone down the tubes....
Sat outside on the patio and watched the planes take off and land. We started with chips and salsa served with homemade tortilla chips. My husband had a Cuban that he loved and I had the Cali grilled chicken wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon, avocado and Chipotle ranch. Both were served with homemade potato chips and both were VERY GOOD. Full bar and excellent beer selection...we'll be back
High Jackers was an experience to remember!!! I am used to city views but high jackers gave me something new!!! A view of planes landing and going and beautiful planes lined up in the hangar. The menu was amazing… we went there on shrimp night and got a pound of peel and eat shrimp for only $12!!! All the servers worked in unison and took turns checking on us while the other servers were checking on other tables and delivering food. I highly recommend this place and now we have made high jackers our most frequent visited restaurant. Every time we go we get the chance to meet a new server and each one has been wonderful. Great service!!!
Food was solid. Had the hangar pretzel and key lime pie. Cool decorations and nice outside area in the back where you can see the planes, and there’s a small playground for kids. My two pieces of criticism are that the service was slow (our waitress was nice but clearly overworked), but it was a Friday night. And I don’t think smoking should be allowed in the outdoor dining area- it’s annoying to some diners, and is especially surprising given the amount of children both dining and playing in the area.
Very good fried food, enhanced by the view of the airport next to which it sits. Fried generic fish and fried shrimp very good, very good shrimp on a skewer and perfectly cooked rare steak on a skewer, and very good fried mahi sandwich. We know that their peanut butter pie is great but we all ran out of room.
