I am giving this place 3 stars because of customer service. We stopped here on our way to our destination to Smyrna, Florida. My grandfather and I both ordered the Tuesday meatloaf special that comes with mashed potatoes and one side.I thought it was a bit odd that the server asked us what 2 sides we wanted, but I didn't question it. Instead of mashed potatoes (which I was fine with, especially because the meatloaf was on the dry side) and an additional side, I ordered okra and carrots, and my grandfather ordered okra and broccoli. When the bill came, we were charged $10.99 instead of $7.99.I pointed this out to the cashier. She seemed like she was going to honor the menu price. However, when she specifically asked the manager "what was the Tuesday special," he bluntly responded "The lunch special is Monday-Friday 11-4."Mind you, the time was 3:39 exactly.I can't help but to wonder if the manager would have been more accommodating if we weren't African American.Unfortunately that $4 came out of the server's tip. She received 15% instead of 20%.
As usual the service was SLOW..? but pleasant. My friend had Chicken fried steak & I a Pot pie. Both came to the table, mehh very warm at bed! Biscuits were COLD! We requested that they be either reheated or fresh. Reheated was the option they chose. That was obvious because previously I had taken a pinch out of 1. The cornbread although slightly sweet, was excessively dry! Honey wasn't offered or available. The pot pie was definitely thickened with raw flour! The taste was OBVIOUS. Most disappointing. My friends Chicken fried steak was crisply cooked and relatively tender, but room temperature. The green beans were DELICIOUS! The kale, tasty but very under seasoned & almost undercooked! No pork or bacon flavor. The biggest heartbreak for my dinner associate, they being a tremendous southern cook in their own right, was the Red Eye Gravy! ??? As it was more of a rue, without sausage,or bacon or pork. Simply a well prepared flour rue, highly seasoned with cracked pepper. Having tasted it several times at breakfast there I know that it was far from their best!Would I go back for dinner? ? Maybe at a different location, but NOT AT THE OLD KINGS ROAD LOCATION!
Big portions of home-style food. Not particularly flavorful or original, but a solid value and sometimes you have a craving for this stuff. No surprises here - same as every other Cracker Barrel I’ve been to over the last several decades.
Love the Cracker Barrel. My favourite place to eat whilst visiting America. The pancakes are the best ever. Love the gift shop. Will definitely be visiting again, and again and again
Good Food. A few mistakes but were quickly fixed. So no other complaints. I love the Strawberry mimosas !!
Very great place to settle your meal. First time to try the breakfast here. Super satisfied with the food and service. Price is reasonable.
Friendly servers, food delicious and prompt! Each server kept on top of the 'botttomless' drinks. We visited for breakfast and then lunch a few days later. Both visits we thoroughly enjoyed.
Very clean establishment...friendly staff greets visitors as you enter the door. Merchandise area as you enter was stocked with a wonderful variety of gift items. Restrooms were spotless. The restaurant area was also very clean. Our waitperson was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and substitution options. Our meals came quickly and were hot and delicious.
Fast and friendly service.
Waitress, Ashley was great! The food was horrible. I had the fried shrimp- Soo salty. My bf had chicken fried steak w/ green beans. The beans were straight from the can. Not a good place to eat.
