My second time eating here at the bar area and had a very cool waitress! Prickly pear margarita was amazing, I had the salad with ranch and with her suggestions I had the bbq ribs with Mac and cheese and loaded potatoes. The ribs was perfect huge rack sauce had a bit of kick then the Mac and cheese was full of flavor and creamy. Potato loaded was nice and had no problem getting a extra side of sour cream to take home for leftovers. Get the carrot cake no matter what to go and is best for sharing. Carrot cake is a moist slab with thick icing and warmed !!!!! Best I ever had. Yes it’s a pricey place but good food, atmosphere and experienced friendly staff and always busy.

If it wasn't for Mother's Day, I wouldn't have gone back to this restaurant. It's funny because we had the same waiter, Jason, as our previous time. My sister in law was asking about drinks and if they carried certain liquors. Jason said no to a few of them but then commented "we have a well stocked bar" clearly that's not the case if you don't have the ones requested. Our table had ordered prime rib, steak maui, and I ordered a well done steak burger since I can't have any uncooked meat. Unfortunately, my burger came out almost medium rare and the smashed potatoes were beyond salty and peppery. Couldn't even finish it. Explained it to Jason and he did apologize but nothing was really done on his part besides taking the burger back to be cooked longer. Also the burger was pretty bland.I would say service and food were subpar. Not worth spending over $250.

I came here for Easter. The macaroni and cheese is to die for! Today I had the swordfish special and it was the best swordfish I ever had. It melted in my mouth. They had calamari on special so I ordered that as well but it was cut too thick. I wouldn't order that again. You also can't go wrong with the martinis. They bring you the extra on the side. Also, make sure you get that carrot cake. It's the best!

I have dined at J Alexander’s several times in various cities that have left memorable experiences. One of dishes I have remembered and enjoyed immensely is their Cajun Ribeye Steak. So when I saw this entree was being offered again I was excited. However, the first two bites left me so disappointed. There was hardly any seasoning or flavor at all. This was not the “Cajun Ribeye Steak” that I remembered. This dining experience could have ended badly but Hillary changed all of that after speaking with her. Her level of professionalism, service and genuine concern went above and beyond. She is an Awesome manager and because of her I will definitely return again to their location!

We got to your restaurant very early, at 4 pm. We were the first people in the bar and had a lovely bartender. We ordered our drinks and food and were having a lovely time. All of a sudden, some guy picks up my open pocketbook from the bar seat next to me and started tossing it at me. I was appalled. There were 99% seat’s available, yet he wanted the end seat next to me. IF, he had asked me to move my bag, I would have been happy to. I told the guy he shouldn’t touch someone’s pocketbook that was open. He proceeded to be more and more belligerent. Then a waitress, obviously one who serves him every night, starts calling me Mam and telling me I was wrong. Obviously the guy was a regular. That’s fine. But I despise a waitress who would start yelling at me to protect her tips. Shame on her and shame on J Alexander. He was wrong to touch my open belongings. He could have sat in the open 145 chairs or asked me nicely to move it. Our bartender was not involved but he was fine. Your regular you can keep. Your waitress, I hope remains waiting for the next 60 years. We will never go again. Tell your people to find out the story if they want to intervene in an incident they did not see happen. Shame on her. Truly she is in the wrong. Your regular, I hope you enjoy forever.

Excellent service, cocktails, and food. Everything was so fresh and seasoned perfectly. The cilantro shrimp was presented over a bed of seasoned rice in the shape of a fish. Very creative presentation. The bread was sourdough and warm with a crispy crunchy crust. The salad was also fresh with crisp vegetables and house made ranch dressing.

For some reason, the menu offerings (which I consider fairly limited) didn't seem to be the same menu we experienced in the past at the Boca Raton restaurant. However, after checking before this review, the menus are the same. (I wonder if the menu went through a change because of Covid.) Service in Boca was terrific, but not so here. Hence, not what I remembered or expected. The main courses were very tasty, but all platters had nearly warm vegetables. Our waiter offered to get fresher and hotter ones, but never returned with them. We were seated outdoors and it felt like we were a forgotten crew stranded on an island.. Granted, our waiter had tables to wait on inside, but to wait over twenty minutes for him to return so I could have a water refill is extremely poor service. Don't get me wrong; he was polite and accommodating when at the table, but not attentive to our table. The tiger shrimp with cilantro oil and cajun spices, served with coleslaw ($28) was enjoyed by my wife and a friend. Another friend had Mr. Jack’s crispy chicken platter (South Carolina low country recipe) with french fries and Southern coleslaw ($25) A friend and myself had the Hardwood-grilled double pork chop with apricot horseradish sauce served with smashed potatoes and broccoli ($31) We did enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of the outside dining area but wish the service had been better. Plenty of off-street parking; handicapped accessible; full bar; major credit cards accepted; reservations accepted.

My family and I went out to J. Alexander's on Sunday night for a birthday celebration. While normally the food and service are great, this night was an exception. My brother ordered a salad with no tomatoes and my uncle ordered a French dip with Mac and cheese. My brother received a salad WITH tomatoes and my uncle received a steak with Mac and cheese, both of which were not caught by the waiter. However, the icing on the cake, my cousin attempted to eat his Mac and cheese and discovered a GLOVE in his food, not a piece but I full glove embedded in his meal. This was extremely disgusting and a huge turn off for dinner. While the manager was very nice and apologetic, I feel one comp meal and a $75 gift card did not cover the massive mistake that was made. I have never ever seen anything like that. The food did taste good, but it was hard to enjoy after seeing the glove. I suggest you check your food before you dig in.

I was craving a steak and came for the prime rib.. I was NOT disappointed. I started with the artichokes and they were perfect, what a feat!!! The prime rib was one of the best prime ribs I've ever had. Everything was so good I somehow managed dessert as well, I finished with the chocolate cake a la mode and espresso. I LOVE this place. The service was fantastic and all the little touches like the lemon twist with the espresso make for such an elevated fine dining experience. So happy this place exists and I cannot wait to go back!!

Wonderful experience! The avocado bomb was Thee Bomb, a delicate but sensational balance of flavors. The crab cakes (sauce on the side) and Mac n Cheese were just as tasty. The establishment elegant but not stuffy and staff so very pleasant. Rob our server was especially attentive to all of our needs. Thank you for a wonderful and delightful experience!
