Well, either the cook got fired or wednesday afternoon is not a good time to go here because the food this time was terrible. It was our 2nd time here. The first time we had such a friendly helpful waitress...not this time. The ribs were overcooked and super dry unlike last time when they were tender and falling off the bone. Our daughter was in town visiting from TN and we wanted to take her since we spoke so highly of this place our first time. Its a shame that this was a horrible experience for her. The corn was tasteless, potatoe salad was tasteless. The chicken was semi decent and the hush puppies were good. But overall it was a really bad 2nd experience for us and a horrible first experience for our daughter. Now its 50/50 so perhaps a 3rd time will be a charm.
To begin, it took forever to be served. Also, the meat from my French dip did not have any seasoning. Meemaw's is not what it used to be. Also, for nine dollars I thought I would begin the best of fried clam strips. Not just strings wrapped in flour than deep fried. The only saving grace here is that your aus ju and soda we're perfect. The soda was not flat. Finally, I would advise lowering the prices on some menu items to reflect the quality.
Good ribs, fish, hush puppies, and pulled pork. The green beans and baked beans not so good. The waitress was great. I will order ribs and fish and cook my own sides
Get the cobbler dessert.
Had the large turkey sandwich. Good food and great service. The hot BBQ sauce was very good and not overly too spicy.
The kids meals came with no buns , food was awful . Pulled pork looked like it was from a box and the sausage links had a terrible flavor. Only plus side was that the staff was nice . Definitely wouldn't eat here again.
standing at to go counter ordered 28 dollars worth pf takeout askedv or a glass of water while i waited because i was very thirsty and was told oh well we charge for water!! never have ever had to pay for a glass of water in a restaraunt usually they bring it out no charge!!i doubt they care but i wont be back and me and my wife go quite often!! your .25 cents for water just cost you a loyal customer!!
Was pretty good. We split 2 meals to see which one we liked. Good potato salad.
Best BBQ in town. Excellent ribs and sliced pork. The very best Cole slaw. Try the spicy cauliflower! Fast and friendly service, and great prices.
Our server was less than enthusiastic about waiting on us. We were in the midst of moving to a new county and stopped to grab a bite. I like to give an honest review every time and include a positive comment whenever possible. Here we go.. If you were born in the Kentucky mountains, raised over yonder in Tennessee or if you're from Ohio, this is the place to eat. It's got a "down-home cooking" feel in both flavor and ambience. The decor matches the food. If you're missing that pot roast like your mama used to make, or if you feel like adventurously stepping into another world, stop on by. It's a little slice of history, bless their heart!
