the churrasco steak here is burnt and tastes like hand sanitizer. the yuca bites are difficult to swallow and lack flavor. the environment is dirty, the employees look sad, and theyre understaffed. this place is often out of items and drinks, youll need a backup order in mind. also, bagged vigo yellow rice is much better than theirs, it has more flavor and isn't nearly as mushy and cold. i noticed one nice employee, but nothing else is good here. i wouldnt trust the manager with a pet rock.
This location is terrible. They never get your order correct. You can try to order ahead to save yourself time....last time I did that, I waited in the restaurant for an extra 25 minutes before it was ready. Do you think it was correct? After they had 40 minutes to put it together? Nope. I asked the person who handed me my food if the sauce was in the bag, he said yep its in there....I looked, no sauce. I get that everyone is short staffed right now. But this location has had been like this for years. I try it every 6 months or so hoping they figured it out and they always disappoint.
Incidents on two consecutive days. First time I got a meal with two sides. I didn't receive my 2nd side because they were out of it and nobody bothered to even tell me or refund me, until i figured it myself after checking the meal. 2nd time, I got a meal with two sides as well which one of them was rice. They put very little rice. I asked for just a little more since the other day I received a good portion. The manager of the place came to speak to me like seriously! And wanted to charge me more if I need just a little bit more..I'm not even asking for extra protein, that's rice! They made a big deal out of my simple request and they still didn't honor my request saying "I did not make the rules"...really? You got to learn how to handle customers respectfully and be flexible when the request is reasonable.??
I LOVE Pollo Tropical's food but this location leaves something to be desired. I always order take our and the food is NEVER on the takeout shelf I always have to wait until all the customers who are standing in line and there typically is a busy line before I can ask for my order, and my order most of the time is sitting there by the register. Use the shelves!!! It would be better for your work flow and for your customers if their online order was actually ready on the shelf for them to go. It's not that hard of a concept!
The food was good and the mango ice tea tasted fresh. I only have it 4 stars because they didn't have any lids. Other than this, I highly recommend this location over the one on Colonial near UCF.
DO NOT EAT OR ORDER FROM THIS DUMP! The staff members are lazy and ignorant! I can't wait until they are replaced with robots! The food was old, stale and cold. The general manager and regional managers should be fired! The staff are only as good as their manager if they have one. 10 thumbs way down. BOYCOTT POLLO TROPICAL. Bunch of FREELOADING CULTURE VULTURES!
Portions are smaller than normal. But the food is still real good. I enjoyed the mac and cheese my chicken was a little drier than normal but overall price wise you do get good value. Gavin at this location sucks as a cashier tell him I said so!

Visiting from Oregon, we found pollo tropical in Oviedo was over the top in service, quality, value and cleanliness. After they proficiently answered our many questions and patiently kept up with our changing selections, they went into action on our order for 10, ready in ~10 minutes.The meal was SO DELICIOUS ?!!! Our group of 6 kids and 6 adults happily devoured it! I'm notoriously picky and hate fast food. But the quality of pollo tropical was so much tastier than the other rice, beans and chicken/pork chains. As everyone else seems to know, the sauces are amazing, esp bbq and cilantro lime. They were out of their popular curry mustard so a foodie member of our party made some and it was a chicken dinner winner.
It's extremely troubling that the dining room has yet to be opened.Trying to get the source you want needs to be studied because there is no help with this. I asked about MOJO and was told that they will have some tomorrow. Far as I know they did away with it. Such a shame we love it too with the plantines.They gave me a cup of red beans and 3 cups rice. It is pretty sad that you can't even walk-in and order. Pollo tropical is not what it once was. Having sources lime and other toppings at hand was a experience. But if you are hungry you gotta go with what they allow you to work with. Food is good though.
