This place is located on Lake Jessup and is a great place to go watch the sunset and see wildlife. I have eaten at the restaurant 5 or 6 times and have never been impressed. The food is okay, better than McDonald's but definitely not great. They are way over priced. Tonight I went to see the sunset and I got a coke and piece of key lime pie. And they charged me $5.99 (before tax) for this teeny tiny piece of pie. I know costs have gone up but seriously this is terrible. On top of being over priced it was horrible, I didn't finish it. I will not eat here again, this was the last time! I'll got watch sunsets but no food, just not worth it. The cost was $5.99 for the pie and $3.00 for the coke. The prices are on the menu so you should know how much you charge for your food. The pie was $5.99 by itself and it was awful. When I opened the box I just laughed, it was ridiculous. Being short staff might explain slow service, it doesn't explain poor quality, over priced food.
Disappointed about the quality of food and service. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant at 19:22 and the Menu has no variety but we were in town and decided to try it since we would not be back in Seminole county for some time.. I had the blacken gator tail and then the gator tacos. Most of the meat tasted old, and some pieces were more tender and fresher than the others. However the tacos were fine. The meat was consistent and the Spicy Mayo made a good topping sauce.. With the restaurant being so slow, we waited a considerable time for drink refills and even our food. We have eaten at other fish camps such and Cherry Pocket and Lone Cabbage and have had better experiences. We can check this restaurant off of our list now. .
Really great restaurant in atmosphere will definitely love to throw an event here. The view is amazing gives you a great nature feel the food is really delicious the service is great. The margaritas awesome two for one all day everyday with a great price and can't wait till I come back and visit again. Plus %10 discount if you stay at the gator lodge!
Not recommended for large groups. The food was average, the mahi tacos and catfish were overly salted. The burgers were really good. The service sub-sub-par. The food was delivered in 3 parts. 6 plates were delivered, 15 minutes 2 more, 15 minutes 1 more plate was delivered and the last thing that was ordered had to be retrieved by my husband because the server completely forgot about us. And on top of that you were forced to pay for the food and tip before it is delivered to you. Maybe stop by for drinks but nothing else!

we had a great ride saw lots of wildlife and Captain Sam was very knowledgeable!!! Highly recommended
Amazing ride and Gator tour with more wildlife than i expected! Friendly and educational staff. Stayed after and got to hold an alligator, & take pics, even ate lunch at the restaurant and bar. Great way to spend our last day in Fl while waiting for our flight.
When in Rome....well when at Black Hammock after viewing alligators in the wild it's only fitting to try a taste of Alligator. We ordered a half pound of Gatorlicious bites ~ half cajun and half Florida flavor. The bites came out golden brown and as tender a you can find alligator. The accompanying honey mustard sauce made it even more flavorful. We also tried the bangin shrimp, catfish nuggets, and the corn fritters ~ all equally delicious as were my Mahi Tacos. To top this meal off we added their 2 for 1 margarita special....several times. The entire experience was made very pleasant by our server Samantha. Definitely a must stop when you're looking for an out of the way place with atmosphere.
Just a fun place you must do once. Had to try their Florida Gator bites. Nice and fresh and not tough. 2 for 1 margaritas. Fried fish was very thick and moist. What was nice was a peninsula with docks you could walk out and see all the natural free gators, birds and snakes. Lots of places to sit outside and drink. Lots of outdoor bar areas for when they are busy.Boat rides to bird island and gators and birds to see by the restaurant. Baby gator inside the restaurant
Came for the Gators and Birds, but since Irma hit they haven't really fully recovered.Decided to give the restaurant a shot as we didn't drive all that way for nothing. Ordered two Margaritas (with the 2 for 1 deal) and they were delicious according to my fiance.Got a 1/2 lb of gator bites, half blackened and half fried. The fried bites were DELICIOUS AND TENDER. The blackened bites were seemingly overcooked and slightly rubbery. All in all it was OK. They were friendly and accommodating for us and our 1 yr old daughter.Hope they get back in full swing again soon!
