I'm so glad my members from my credit union I work at recommended this place, If I can give 10 stars I would!!Our chef Mike was AMAZING!! He kept us entertained the ENTIRE time, also got to sit with other locals who were awesome regulars... Mike goes above and beyond for his customers and deserves the recognition! My son and his wife were our guests; we both ordered the 'dinner for 2' at the hibachi grill. Very well done; generous helpings and, this time, the chef paid attention to requests for 'rare', etc. All in all, most enjoyable. BUT, when we received the bill, the $40.00 Dinner For Two was $50.00. We called the manager who said, "Sorry, everything costs more these days"! No mention of price changes on the menu. If you go to The TJSH, find out what you are going to pay before you order.
We have been searching for a hibachi restaurant since we moved to the space coast and we found Tokyo. Worth the hour drive for us because it is amazing. Love the atmosphere where the hibachi tables are not secluded away from the rest of the restaurant! They have amazing yum yum sauce and use mushrooms in their veggies!! Many places have stopped that sadly.
Called ahead asking about a reservation for a group of 8 for Hibachi. We arrived 30 mins after calling and was told they could not seat us for another 1.5 hours and that a reservation was required. The lady upfront Hope was extremely rude and said that we did not call. I pulled my phone out and showed her the number and the time that I called. She refused to seat us so we left and went down to Takeya and received excellent service even without a reservation. This day in age service like this is unacceptable and I’d highly recommend not coming here and supporting this type of service.
Our group of eight (On vacation) called ahead and asked if reservations were needed. The worker, Hope, who answered the phone, stated, “We did not need reservations because they were not busy and that we could be seated immediately.” When we asked if they cook in front of you, they said “absolutely.” We called a taxi for eight people, and when we walked in, they said we needed reservations and couldn’t seat us for two hours. They told our group that we must have called another location, but when we showed them the call history and timestamp, they just shrugged their shoulders and said I don’t know who you talked to, but we can’t help you. That forced us to call another taxi, pay more money and go to a different restaurant. I was very disappointed in the service and shocked at how little they cared.
We had a party of 3 with a reservation at 6:30. We were seated at 6:20 and ordered appetizers and beverages. At 6:55, the host sat another party of 3 at our table. We had to wait until 7:20 for the chef to come cook our main entrees because the people they sat at our table after us. Then the chef proceeded to do 4 shots of sake with the other people that were seated at our table. We do not drink and found it ridiculous because the chef completely ignored us and focused on the people giving him free shots. Our steak was to be med rare and it was med to med well and the chicken was dry. The chef served the people who sat 40 minutes after us first. We also ordered three combination meals to go. When we got home, there were only 5 pieces of chicken and steak in each box. Crazy. The salads were browning and we were given honey mustard dressing and not the white dressing we ordered. This was our first time there and it was not a good experience. Our bill was $157 and change not counting tip. I am only giving two stars because of the waitress. She was awesome!! As a previous restaurant manager myself, I would not let my employees drink on the job. And to the people who sat at our table, shame on you for drinking a pitcher of sake and then driving home with your child in the car. Not sure we will be back unless we get a different chef.

We had a Very entertaining evening. Omar was our chef. He was fantastic.. Very funny and great chef!! We had New York strip and lobster. Amazing!! Omar cooked it to perfection! Can't wait to go back.
