This place has been my absolute FAVORITE for decades, since I was in college at Stetson. Then, it was called “The Corral”. Since Covid, we get takeout, and Joey and the others, who take the orders, are fantastic! Unlike some restaurants trying to do carryout, Mario’s has it down as an art. The orders are ALWAYS correct. Gina, the owner, is always there, welcoming diners. The spaghetti and sauce is THE best. The Grouper Francois is fantastic. Actually, I have never had a bad meal, and I have been coming since the ‘70’s. For traditional, authentic, delicious Italian at reasonable prices, this IS the place to go in Volusia County!
My Wife and I moved here a year and a half ago from New York and found this Gem. The food the sauces are amazing. The service is great the prices are reasonable. We quickly made it a favorite stop. We have brought many friends who all enjoy is as much as we do. Returning many times just us two for that romantic diner. Love this place shout out to the chief great job.......love your food
Have gone here since 2004, my husband is all about good Italian food and they have always been our fave! Have never had a bad experience with food or service with them! Always a great time and good prices. Always a go to with friends,family or just a night out to enjoy. Definitely recommend to any one who enjoys great Italian food!
Grandma wanted chicken marsala for her birthday vacation meal, so we found Mario's. Everyone found a meal they liked, from spaghetti to shrimp, and they gave us salads, bread and sides we weren't expecting. Pick up has its own door in the back and the employee there was wonderful. Looks like a fun place to eat indoors too, a family Italian place decorated with photos and drapes, etc. We had to take-out to the beach, though! We would return.
Mario's looks like it is right out of the 70's, it is and thats fine with me.The food is very good. I had the ChickenParm, 3 good sized cutlets, nice flavor, very good tomato sauce.My wife had the Lasagna. She liked it and thought it was pretty good.Bread & salad were very good as was the service.
Went here on 4/2/22 to celebrate daughters birthday. We live here locally and I’ve only previously been here once before. Party of 14 and the place was packed, lively with families all talking around their dinner tables just a wonderful vibe. The service was great even as busy as they were they never missed a beat. Our meals came with salads which were fresh and delish. Hubby was very happy they had French dressing, not many places carry that. Dinner was served hot, we had a table of Calamari, Chicken Parm, Shrimp & Scallop, Ravioli, and Mussels. All served with loaf of garlic and plain Italian bread. Everything was superb. It was a perfect place to go enjoy a very good meal with our family. We will be back!! Well done Mario’s!!!!!
Celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary at Mario’s and it was our first visit! Seated at the bar we met some great people, the bartender Frank was attentive and welcoming. The food was amazing and it felt like home! We will definitely return and will highly recommend it to friends. We are only here for a few months but I know we will return again and again! Ciao!
This is a dark, old time restaurant with wonderful ambiance. But you can’t eat decor, so I’ll cut to the chase. The calamari was sensational! I defy anyone to attempt to eat all of the large serving of lasagna- easily enough for 3 people. I had the chicken parm and lasagna combo- I couldn’t finish that either. The food was excellent quality and expertly served by out waiter, Dan. Just to characterize us, we dined there the night before we ran the Tomoka marathon, and believe me, we came to chow down and left with plenty of food after stuffing ourselves. I may make another trip to Ormond Beach just to eat there!
