Fresh local seafood options! Beware of finding parking for this place (or anywhere downtown). They offer valet around the back because it gets a little congested on that block. Service was good, though the food took a while since they were busy. Server was super attentive and polite. Nice porch with huge fans- Not too hot in June. The portions here are large and it's priced appropriately. We always enjoy the food and environment and keep coming back for it! A must stop for anyone visiting or locals!!
A great place... I've been coming to Hulls for years... Last night I brought my friend here for her birthday ?... I used the valet parking ?️... We arrived to the restaurant early...we were seated promptly... Our waitress Elena was bubbly and knowledgeable... We were deciding on what drink we were going to have to celebrate her birthday...well we decided on the "drunken sailor" (an excellent choice btw)... We ended up getting my favorite appetizer "smoked fish spread" it is the bomb... With a little bit of help from our waitress Elena we decided on each getting the "Captain's Platter" it includes two sides, rock shrimp, a fish of your choice (blackened or broiled) w/ a rumalude dipping sauce and two fabulous hush puppies... They also do have scrumptious, spicy fish chowder!! One of my favorite go-to places.
Great fresh fish! Loved our visit. Definitely going back!
The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were very friendly. The good and drinks were excellent.
Absolutely our favorite seafood restaurant. Fried oysters were delicious. Only objection we went in front door and seated there. Did not tell us about beautiful outdoor patio and dining room in rear. That would have made dining experience so much better.
When Miranda makes a recommendation, take it. Absolutely the freshest shrimp and fish I've ever had. I went with the Grilled Salmon with Cole slaw, fries and two hush puppies. My wife was undecided so Miranda recommended the North Sea She got it with fries, a side salad and two hush puppies. We started with a buffalo shrimp appetizer and the main course seemed to arrive just as my wife gobbled the last shrimp. The salmon was cooked well, very juicy and delicious with a single bone. I sampled the Sea Bass and it was also soft and full of flavor. Not a single bone did my wife encounter in her entree and her salad was chilled and crisp. "Perfect."It was also a treat sitting outside as there was only a wisp of a breeze now then. All the staff were very friendly and it sure is nice to see smiles on so many faces.
The best seafood we had in Ormond! The menu is extensive so you’ll want to go back more than once (as we did) to try some different items - all of which are very fresh and delicious. The place can get packed for dinner - even with substantial indoor and outdoor seating - so be prepared to wait (but it’s worth it!)You can also always order takeout from the counter out front. Lots of great daily specials to choose from - we took our massive piece of shark to the beach, which in retrospect was probably cruel and insensitive to the local Selachimorpha community… we wouldn’t eat eggs in a chicken coop or make a cow watch me hork down a burger. But I digress.Bonus: awesome gator bites!
Had been to Hull's a year ago and had a great meal. Returned on a Wednesday night thinking would not be crowded at 5:30 pm but was wrong. Said 25 minutes, but only took 10. Had fantastic, friendly server that took care of all our needs. Shared Blackened Mahi Mahi which was spicy and delicious. Plenty of food. Fried Calamari for appetizer was great. Only issue is parking, but valet in back took care of us. Will come back to Hull's again.
Do try to get here on the earlier side of dinner and if anything, do try to park in the public lot a block or 2 to the west if their lot is full. Plan on a bit of a wait or bypass all of that and sit at the long bar. My wife had the grouper special along with a Drunken Sailor cocktail while I went with the North Carolina Fried Flounder. Both meals were very good and prepared just right. This place should be a bucket list stop when you are in the area.
This our second time here within a week. The food is good, the services is good. The problem came tonight! We were sitting outside waiting for a table for 4 opened. While seating there I noticed the hostess wrapping the flatware. The problem as you can see from the photo she is using her bare hands (no gloves) to pick up each utensils from the end that one would put into their mouth. She looks so comfortable doing this as this is the only way to do this. As we were seated my spouse asked for a manager and plastic utensils for all 4 at the table. Due the middle of the dinner the waiter came back to the table and said the manager left to go on an errand. Really! I would like to know, when did this become correct? Food is good but I love my health more. IF YOU DO EAT HERE ASK FOR PLASTIC FLATWARE!!!!
