Mediocre food at top prices. The quality and taste of the food isn't any better than what you can get outside the parks for half the cost.Unfortunately I left unsatisfied with the experience. You're essentially paying extra just because it is Disney, but they really should make it an unforgettable experience if they want people to pay their prices.I ate at two sit down restaurants at Epcot during this visit and based on both experiences I wouldn't recommend spending twice what the meal is worth. Find a restaurant outside of the park for a better value.
Extremely good quality of food with experience, although very high prices for the food. Ordered the Wagyu Steak medium-rare and it came out medium to medium-well. Still a very good meal but with the prices being the limiting factor.
An average experience for something I would expect to be more authentic. We came here 4 years ago and loved it. This time the food was mediocre at best. My wife (born and raised in Japan) said the food ingredients that were used and how they were prepared were not something they would use/do in Japan. Last time she was able to converse with the staff in her native language and she felt at home. This time it was like we were eating at a Japanese restaurant in Indiana.
I've been here a couple times before and had good experiences, however today my boyfriend and I ran (literally ran) all the way from Test Track to try to make it to this restaurant by 9pm before they closed, but when we got there they turned us away saying we needed to have a reservation or couldn't be seated? Even though we literally did the same exact thing last time and were seated without a problem. They said that to be seated tonight in general was reservation-only, but that is very frustrating considering we have never needed one before and had no way of knowing until we hiked all the way there. On previous trips the food was good, just very pricey and not adequate portions.
Can’t even express how amazing this dining experience was. Went here for my bday dinner in EPCOT and i definitely made the right choice! The sushi was sooo good; better than any other sushi i’ve ever had in my entire life. The facility was clean and had a great view of the EPCOT dome from where we were sitting. Staff was friendly and it definitely matched the EPCOT vibe. Can’t recommend enough! You will not regret coming here!
Excellent food and service! This part of World Showcase was bittersweet for us as we were supposed to go to Tokyo for the Olympics in 2020. It was fun to pretend :) I got a sushi roll and salad and thought it was great! My husband loved their wine. Not sure what it was called but it was the cabarnet.
The manager had a long conversation with us regarding a possible shrimp allergy. That was helpful and I sent him a cast compliment. Unfortunately that was also the high light. Not worth it by a long shot.
We reserved this restaurant because most restaurants in Epcot were already booked when our opportunity to make dining reservations 60 days in advance arrived. We all like Japanese food and thought this might be fun. It is a depressing and lackluster dining experience. Honestly, the disappointment starts in the elevator which, apart from the Samurai painting, looks like it belongs at the Port Authority bus terminal. It's dingy, not overly clean and in poor repair with scrapes on the wall. Definitely not magical. Once we checked in with the hostess, we waited about 10 minutes for a table. The hostess asked in detail about our food allergies. I told her that can't have sesame seeds and she made a note of that. The menu is completely average. There's nothing on it that you can't get at your local Japanese restaurant. We ordered a volcano roll, miso soup, a salad, a shrimp tempura roll, two pieces of sashimi, the assorted tempura entree and the karaage appetizer. As soon as we finished the salad and soup--the tofu in the soup was uncomfortably spongy-- the rolls and tempura hit the table. The rolls were 8 pieces each, but so lacking in flavor. The volcano roll's presentation was at least a little imaginative, but neither my shrimp tempura roll not my son's volcano roll had much flavor. The tempura entree would be an appetizer in any other restaurant. The chef wasn't even generous with the tempura vegetables. The karaage appetizer arrived well after the rest of the meal and it was covered in sesame seeds. We had to send it back. Our waiter returned with a new karaage, but after the allergy interview we had gone through, this was just sloppy. In terms of atmosphere, there's nothing special about the decor and the men in our party said the men's room was dirty. Dessert was good, but the Disneyworld 50th anniversary cake is not specific to Tokyo Dining. It's available throughout the parks. If you plan on eating at Epcot, I recommend you avoid Tokyo Dining.
Save your time and money, we waited 40 minutes for cold and greasy tempura. We understand staffing issues, but less than 25% of the tables were in use. It’s sad, this place used to be great.
Had the blue fin tuna sashimi, rainbow haku, and the sirloin steak. The food is sub par here and quite frankly, the teppanyaki place next door offers a much better dining experience. Also, small warning: as ridiculous as it may seem, they charge for tea by the cup even though they give you a whole pot. So, if in a party of 3, everyone wants tea, they will get charged $10.50 ($3.50 per cup) for 3 cups and one pot of tea. If only one person wants tea, they will still get the same pot but with 1 cup for a total of $3.50. No idea who came up with that pricing but not the brightest idea. Summary: don't eat here, go to the teppanyaki place next door.
