Nerd bar / tabletop game bar, high quality beers and whisky drinks. $8-12. Food very good quality and presentation under $15. $5 to play any of 600 board games. Expect to spend at least $30. Caters to the socially awkward by allowing you to order on your phone and use a sign to signal a waiter. Very easy to meet friends. Clean and all of the staff was attentive and friendly .
This place never ceases to amaze me. I've been coming to the Cloak and Blaster for about 9 years, ever since they opened there first location. Like a fine mead, this place just keeps getting better with age. Their game selection is outstanding and their store stocks a lot of really neat things. If you are a fan of Critical Role and you are local, you should go buy your merch there. The owner is a kind human being who genuinely cares for his employees as his patrons. Their beer selection is amazing. Any self-described nerd needs to visit this place if they come to Orlando. It is easily worth a half hour plus detour. Their food was pretty tasty as well. The place has my highest recommendation!! I'd give it six stars if I could.
Got a recommendation from someone while visiting Orlando to try this place out. Wow, amazing place. Dinner and some board games!! Staff was so friendly and helpful, food was good, good selection of board games. Love the decor of the place.
Atmosphere was fantastic and they have a pretty large selection of games to play. Drinks were good and there was a good selection of those as well. I got a grilled cheese with brie, fig jam, and caramelized onions and it was delicious, but I got churros for dessert and they were kind of tough to chew. A friend also got a sandwich with meat and they said it was a little tough and gristly. Overall I definitely recommend this place for drinks, gaming, and hanging out...the food is alright but not their strong point.
I'm from out of town and wanted to teach my family about boardgames. This place is fantastic!! The staff is very friendly and on the ball. There are a lot of games to choose from and the decor helps set the mood. The food is delicious and don't forget to role a critical hit! Hope to return someday soon.
Was visiting town for a few days and came here looking to kill time with board games. My brother and I had such a blast trying out new games and eating some delicious food. The staff was so thoughtful and attentive. And if you don't like that they have a system where you can indicate you don't want to be disturbed which is perfect for introverts like me :) the food was absolutely delicious and more than reasonably priced. We stayed for three hours playing games and eating fantastic food. The only thing that could be better is a wider selection of cocktails (I'm not a whiskey person) but that's on me because I assumed it would be a full bar. I highly recommend giving this place a try! They also had vegan and gluten free options!
Let me start off by saying that I love this establishment; I think it has a great atmosphere and a great menu. I am not one to rate things badly whatsoever, so I hope you take this as constructive criticism rather than just a jerk ranting. You charge $5 per person to play games within your establishment. I completely understand this cover charge if I’m using your library; absolutely no complaints there. However, if I come in and bring my own games, I still have to pay that same rate?! That doesn’t make any sense. Your argument is that I’m paying to reserve the table, but when there are 25 empty tables (which there were when I was there), that argument doesn’t hold any water. Also, keep in mind, I bought two drinks and an appetizer, so I wasn’t being a freeloader. (I did refuse to pay this when I was there recently) My recommendations are below: When there are plenty of free tables, there should be no charge if the customer brings their own game. However, if they don’t buy anything from the bar, charge them the $5 per player. When the store is busy and there are very few tables available, charge your $5 per person, even if it’s their own game, because they are legitimately taking up a table from other potential customers. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope that you seriously consider what I’ve stated in this review. I’m not a regular as I don’t live in Orlando, but I repeat you have a great establishment and I will certainly keep coming by when I come to Orlando.
I came here with a few friends the other day and I can't get this place out of my mind. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing, and they had a HUGE selection of board games. Also they still have the humongous baked potatoes that the previous store that was in this location had
I loved the old location near waterford lakes. There are definitely perks about the new location: they have cool merchandise or items they are selling, their technology is great because you can order and pay for your food on your phone without relying on a waiter, and their assortment of drinks are good ( we got a great sour beer which tasted great); however, sadly a lot of the great food items that I loved are missing, mainly the dragon eggs ( why God why!?) they also didn’t have the black widow drink I loved too. No chocolate cake and our turkey sandwich double deck item was not as good as before ( I missed the fries being an option). You also have to pay a fee now to play the games, which I can kind of understand. I do sadly miss the old location because the ambience was very tavern-y with the cool addition of a gaming area upstairs. The new place is more hipster vibes and smaller, less about the novelty of being a gaming pub to go to. Despite the many changes, I do wish them the best !
Unique and fun taven! Awesome drinks and food, wide variety of cool board games. Great spot to hang out with friends, play a game, have some drinks and food and just hang out. Staff was amazing and very friendly! As a fan of Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, I love the decor.
