Love this place for it's ma po tofu!! Reminds me of what my Dad cooks growing up. And it's always consistently tasty and high quality! Price is very reasonable for amount you get, along with a veg, small soup, and spring roll.My husband gets the Taiwanese Braised Pork over rice nearly every time and always tastes great. Other menu items I've tried are Taiwanese Sausage Fried rice (yum!), soybean paste noodle (tasty but too salty for me), Gua Bao (very yummy but pricey), Beef Noodle Soup (tastes like the ones I've had in Taiwan!), seaweed salad (pricey), takoyaki (better enjoyed fresh). Hope this place does well and don't close bc they're our go to take out place.
Charming restaurant with great food in the Suncrest Village Plaza at the corner of Dean and University. Due to the renovation of the nearby Publix, navigating the parking lot can be a bit of a challenge, but it's worth it for the food! Unfortunately, there's no menu on display, and no printed menus, as this place is still in "pandemic mode" in some respects (every other table is closed), so you will need a smart device (preferably a tablet - the phone format is a little squished) to flip through to make your choices unless you're already familiar with the options. Still, once we got past that hurdle, the food was great, and pretty fast service for how busy it was. The "octopus balls" (I'm used to calling them "takoyaki" at other places) make for an impressive and tasty starter. The bento deals offer generous portions and a variety of elements for a meal. The server was friendly (and patient with my fumbling through the menu), and overall this place was just a good find and I regret not checking this place out sooner!
I took my nephew here after he kept raving about Mei and her cooking ! From the moment we entered, we were treated like family. Her staff was just as welcoming. The food was delicious and we tried quite a few dishes. The broth in her ramen was full of flavor. Everyone left full and happy ! What you want and expect when you go out to have a meal. Great job Mrs. Mei!
Some of the nicest staff I have encountered in Orlando. The food is delicious too! Their Taiwanese chicken is delicious. Nice crispy and flavourful. The pork belly bento with the Lou rou fan is a must too! It’ll take you on a flavor tour of Taiwan. What a special place!
the pan fried taro is so delicious, i cant get enough of it. the portion sizes do not compromise and you can taste the effort that went into sourcing quality ingredients. the general tso's tasted so good it inspires me to return to the kitchen and make some of my own dishes again. thanks for keeping the passion alive, and for making food that's actually spicy!! i cant wait to return for the orange chicken @[email protected]
Mei and Gigi are always such a pleasure to see. The food is amazing and the service is spectacular. You will enjoy the quality and authenticity of this place. My mom and I love to explore different places and I can definitely say how great we feel when coming to Mei’s kitchen.
I got the fried shrimp bao and sasparilla to drink. The service was incredible and the food was delicious. I will definitely be recommending this to my friends!!
The best Asian food in Orlando for sure!! Every item in their menu is just amazing!!
This is truly a hidden gem and just about everything was delicious. I wanted to try just about everything and ordered a bunch of things. Let’s start: soup of the day was delicious with pieces of tofu in it and was a great way to start our meal. Next was the vegetable spring roll. Honestly, nothing to write home about very generic option and tasted oily. We ordered the steamed pork dumplings and they were delightful and flavorful. Then we move on to the shrimp fried rice and the flavor was light and tasty. Literally one of the best fried rices we have ordered. The next photo you’ll see the grilled sesame chicken with white rice. The rice is well, boring, and veggies didn’t have anything going on. The sesame sauce on that chicken however was oh my goodness good. It’s literally something that you could put on just about anything and have it taste yummy. We move on to fried shrimp and avocado bao. It had a little kick and the avocado gave it a nice creamy touch. The pork scallion buns were packed full and had a hint of sweetness which I was not expecting but it was a nice surprise. Last but not least is the fried taro cake. In fairness I’m Cuban and our desserts are buckets of sugary goodness and while it wasn’t bad, I do prefer my desserts to be sweeter. If they offered a condensed milk drizzle option, I think that it would definitely make it an outstanding dessert with the natural earthy sweetness of the taro and the crunch from it being fried. I highly suggest you check them out. — eating dinner at Mei’s Kitchen Orlando.
My family went here to try out some local food near me. It was hidden away in a shopping center heavily under construction. We were AMAZED at how delicious the food was. The fried foods were so crispy yet juicy, but the star of our meal was the braised pork belly. Seriously GREAT. I would give it more stars if I could. Service was also 11/10!!
