We have been coming here for years since when they were in their other location. Delicious bakery, excellent and friendly service (thank you Jessica!), and great coffee. Coffee is fair trade, I recommend a cappuccino to “dine in” served in a real mug. Beautiful and delicious. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend this bakery and cafe.
I live in Nebraska and whenever I’m home I have to visit Mecatos Cafe. Today was like always, however this was my first visit to their new location. This new location is beautiful, upbeat atmosphere, employees friendly and dining area was very clean .The service was excellent, Amanda was very attentive and assisted me in making selections. While I waited I was made aware that an ingredient in one of my selections would be different than normal. I appreciate their kindness and attention to the customers needs. Food is always delicious and fresh.
Mecatos downtown is my favorite! The food and coffee is amazing. Love the Cortadito and avocado toast, and of course all the pastries! What makes it extra special though is the staff. Each time I’m there Daniela knows my order before I even say it (Cortadito all day!) and she ALWAYS has a smile on her face. She is hands down fantastic. My coffee breaks feel like a true break and I always leave with a smile on my face. Thank you Daniela for such wonderful service!
I used to be a frequent customer of Mecatos, not anymore. The service has really gone down hill. Several employees behind the counter, and still Takes forever to get your coffee , and don’t bother calling ahead or placing an order online (I’ve done that 3 times) and still waited 25 minutes after I got there for my food. We’ve been sent home with incorrect coffees twice, and with bags full of empanadas with no sauce even when requested. It’s always an issue asking for extra sauce for sandwiches and empanadas. Employees give you an attitude if you ask for more of anything and even offer to pay for extra. I called and asked to speak to a manager and was told they would call me back when they were less busy. Never received a call back. You can upgrade to a bigger prettier location, but if you can’t get customer service in a timely manner figured out people will stop coming. I take my business elsewhere 3 times a week now. It’s a shame. You have to treat your customers better and be more efficient .
unwelcome environment if you get there 1 hour before closing. I used to go to Mecatos once/twice a week. Everything used to be perfect. Now that there are several locations, attention to details seem to start declining. If you get there 1 hour before closing, 80% of the staff are dedicated exclusively to closing activities (taking the trash out, mopping floors, etc). There were 5 people behind the counter and only one of them asking clients what they wanted. Also, I do not appreciate being drinking my coffee with all the noises and smells of the cleaning activities. They should do that after closing. Very disappointed
It's OK. The Bakery is not what you would expect. It is Columbian style, so a lot of the pastries may look like what you have eaten before, but the taste and composition is different. Other than that, nice place to come and have a cup of coffee with a fresh pastry.
We usually by pastry every week and very fresh but last week end I had some pastry that were definitely fresh. Very disappointed especially the prices we pay.\\nHope that the manager verifies from now on\\nIf I pay to get fresh I expect daily fresh
My community ordered 642 desserts from Mecatos for our NYE event. The desserts looked beautiful and everyone loved them. Mecatos did an absolute magnificent job. I will definitely order from them again. If you need fresh and beautiful desserts for your event or just for you and your family, Mecatos is the place to go. Kudos to Mecatos.\\nP.S. I took the leftover desserts to our local fire station who take care of our senior neighbors. They were so happy that I thought of them.
The beef empanada is the best, and a great value, $2. The flan, tiramisu and Linzer cookie all go great with coffee or a latte.
This place was AMAZING! All the servers were so hospitable, and the girl with green eyes made me one of the best drinks that i've had.
