It’s such a shame because Market on South has the potential to be the best vegan restaurant in the city, but because of its service it’s probably the worst. This isn’t the first time this has happened either.They “forget” to toast their bread constantly. Sandwich ingredients are always missing, like the sauce on this tomato sandwich. The kale was also not seasoned. BBQ cauliflower without the BBQ. Don’t ever order anything from their Uber Eats, you won’t be able to get your money back.This also isn’t just a thing with take out. I once asked for a fork when dining in, in order to be able to eat my wet burrito, “sure I’ll get that right out for you”. It never came. I went back in to ask for it again and “oh. That’s right” with an air of “I wished you had forgotten”I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s like everyone’s first day on the job with a team of high school dropouts because putting in any type of effort was too hard. Disgusting
terrific southern style vegan food and baked goods… i really enjoyed it, and the staff were lovely.
I usually do not order carryout because it just isn't the same but today market on south exceeded my expectations! Food was just as good as ordering it at the counter and was piping hot still when I got home. Amy and Preston were very helpful and courteous, and offered me a sample of the lemonade while I waited.

I got the burger. It looks great in the photo. It even looks like it could be a burger in person. It tasted god awful. This is not an impossible burger or anything that is trying to simulate the taste of meat. It's designed to look like a hamburger and the taste seems to be the residue of whatever it takes to make plants look like a burger. It's like the people who make these things forgot that people east hamburgers for their taste rather than their look. We got the kids pretend chicken nugget things and mac and cheese. The kids ate the faux chicken. It tasted like hush puppies and who doesn't like that. Daughter said the mac and cheese tasted like peanut butter. She abandoned it. Good description. Oh and I got the mashed potatoes for a side dish and they were pretty bland even with a sauce on top that looked familiar to the sauce on the mac and cheese. I am sitting here 6 hours later and I feel bloated and hot and sweaty. These recipes must just substitute a lot of plant fat for animal proteins. If you think your sin of eating good food is ruining the planet then you can take your punishment here.
Disclosure- I'm a meat eater and I had a blast eating here!I took my family here for lunch because one of us is a vegetarian.We got the jackfruit bbq, the brew burger, and the Nashville hot as well as a variety of desserts to take home. The jackfruit bbq and the Nashville hot were spectacular - I didn't know the brew burger was made with soybeans, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it - it was fine to eat, but just not my taste.Everything was well seasoned and flavoured well. We tried the pistachio rose dessert which was SO flavourful and delicious. I will be coming back here. Thank you to Tony for being so patient and helpful. You made the whole experience so sweet. Tony helped us choose good options, mentioning *their favourites and explaining things we weren't sure of.
My friends and I rolled up to this spot yesterday night. And let me tell ya! Pleasantly surprised . Food has great flavor. Sauce has a nice punch. I ordered the orangebird with garlic mac n cheese Delish! and their brown sugar lemonade (bomb)... I ordered some to go for my hubby and daughter and didnt even mention it was vegan.. They tore it up! Staff was very nice we even got walked out to our car because of the heavy rain by a the young gentlmen at the register.. Friendly staff. Awesome tasing food. The fried chicken tasted good-ish, but I would equate it to bad Chinese fried chicken take out (soggy). Not being vegan, I think most vegan restaurants should concentrate on making unique vegan food, that is when you get excellent unique taste and flavor. The mac and cheese I would not recommend.Great customer service! Would definitely go back.
