We decided to eat at the leaky cauldron and i guess we built it up so much that it was a bit of a let down. The resturant was clean and the staff super friendly. The embiance of the building definetly made you feel as though you were in a harry potter movie. The food however was a bit of a let down.

We read that the Leaky Cauldron was one of the better restaurants at Universal, so my expectations were going in were higher. Maybe that is why I was a bit disappointed with the food.I got the pie and salad and it wasn’t that great. My family, and many people at the surrounding tables got fish and chips and they all seemed to be pretty happy with their choice. Maybe I should’ve gotten that too.We also got a pumpkin juice which was really sweet - I didn’t like it either and should’ve gotten a tried and true butter beer.Overall, it wasn’t the greatest food but it wasn’t the worst either. The lineup was a bit confusing though because I couldn’t set up payment on my app.

We had to order using the app before we could go inside and sit. Once we ordered our food, a staff member kindly showed us where we could choose to sit. We needed to scan the bar code at the table so they know where to bring the food. There were many tables to pick from. We loved the decor and it really felt like you were in the world of Harry Potter! It was our first time having British food, and we were pleasantly surprised (for theme park food) at how fresh and tasty it was.

Now not only have a written a string of reviews for all parts of the Universal Resort as a whole but I have mentioned in all of them the failings of the food service. Well we have reached rock bottom here. Now I have eaten here on many occasions before and in general its standard theme park food loosely based on a UK menu. A touch pricey but OK. Well not tonight it wasn't tonight was just plain disgraceful. First of all you need to of placed a mobile order for food to be served.now its doesn't tell you that anywhere until you rock up so your left with a group of people stood outside the entrance all trying to place a mobile order rather than in a queue actually placing on order. Then of course the app wouldn't accept my annual pass discount. So after I had proved to two different team members that it wasn't working they let me in to order where I had to prove to a third team member it wasn't working before they let pay at a till. No let's remember I have no spoken to 3 different team members.so the first question from the 4th was "what table number did they give you" of course no one had so a 5th team member comes over and gives me a table number. I still haven't ordered any food yet so food ordered 3 simple mains sat down and in less than 5 mins my food was in front of me. Wow that's really impressive I thought little did I know all three dishes where cold. So I stopped a passing team member and asked if they could be heated up the team member duly took them away for reheating. And sure enough 5 mins later there they where back again my wife's was now heated my sons was also heated but was now hard (special chicken sandwich) bun hard bacon like rubber but guess what my fish still cold. Now I generally have a rule of not sending food back in a restaurant so started to eat the team members came back to ask if all was OK. No sorry its still cold but I've started eating was met by " oh I'm so sorry" as she walked off never to be seen again. Now eating over cooked battered fish is bad enough but cold is nearly impossible but the warm tomato from my sons sandwich was tasty. Seriously disappointed by the entire event. Moral of the story do not eat here unless its busy so you have a chance of fresh cooked food.

Great experience! When we arrived staff out front told us we needed to order through the app and then would be seated. Super easy to order and then we had maybe a five minute wait until we were seated (impressive considering it was noon and many other people wanted to eat there!). We had to wait a bit for our food to come but it was great to sit inside and just enjoy the atmosphere! All the food was delicious and reasonably priced for a theme park! Would highly recommend to anyone visiting to make this your lunch spot!

A rare dine in restaurant that is reasonably priced while being tasty at the same time! Seats can be hard to find during peak hours so mobile ordering is recommended. They specialize in UK style foods and of course serves all the Butterbeer any Harry Potter fan could want.

Encouraged to mobile order but I insisted I was paying cash . Wish I had read reviews . Been in universal many many times and never bothered but it was hot and queue for frozen butter beer was too long so thought we would give it a go on a whim . Staff outside bordering on rude but I insisted I was paying cash . The hall is nothing special it’s noisy and grubby . Ordered fish and chips and honestly laughed at what we were given . For the price it was laughable . Surely we had a kids meal but apparently not . So much food around us left uneaten but not the fish as it was so small you would need to have had a five course meal before not to be able to finish . If people Honestly think this is what we as people from uk eat they need a shake . JK should be enraged at the robbery and fraud Carried out here . Save your money give this place a wide berth . There was another half a fish but the wedges are what was given .

We had been to the Three Broomsticks 10 years ago and had enjoyed the experience and atmosphere, so thought we would do the Leaky Cauldron this time as it was not there before. Unbelievable! Costly and poor poor food So we were extremely disappointed My wife had the Toad in the Hole, which was nothing like Toad in the Hole and left it. I had the cottage pie which was acceptable but costly for what is was. I’m sure JK would not be happy to eat here and taking poor representation of classic British dishes and failing badly. We were also excited about having the Butterbeer Ice cream, which again was very average and believe it or not was served at the same time as our main meal! Ate at places all around the World and never had this happen, ever! Make sure you have the Universal App and Pre-order as only way of getting in, which I think works well. Some of the staff were friendly but some were not happy in their work! Going to America you get used to great and plentiful food, please don’t expect this here. Wish I’d come on this site before going as the main thing I have noticed is that there are absolutely NO responses to the reviews from Universal. I’ll let you take your view on that which in itself shouts very loud

We were very disappointed as we had eaten here before and it was good. Today it was just awful. First we had to order our food on our phones outside, then we had to wait in a line over 25 minutes just to sit at a table. I’m 73, it was 95degrees out and I was already starting to get heat exhaustion. I needed food and water. We were finally able to sit and our food came. It was not very good. My sausage and Yorkshire pudding had an odd taste and my daughter’s “fishy drink” was terrible. Even my grandson, who eats and drinks everything couldn’t drink it. Way too sweet and also had an odd taste. It was a total waste of money.
