Posting this review is bitter sweet. Flyer's is a prime example "hole in the wall" type restaurant. It is a local favorite that will never be out of business no matter how many mistakes are made. Most common loved wings are lemon pepper and any garlic wing flavor(butter garlic/medium garlic). You can specify how you prefer your wings to be prepared, saucy, crispy, etc. Just be prepared to be patient. They are usually busy. The fries used to be much better than what they've become post-pandemic but that has not slowed the business down one bit.Customer service has changed for the worse, so my advice is to get in and get out. Dining in makes for a much more fresh meal but it is extreamly outdated and filthy. It also feels more self served though seeing as they no longer have waitresses.
Called order in said would be ready in 15 min. Arrived there to pick it up 35 min later and had to wait 20 min. This is the purpose of call ahead. So from the time I placed my order to actually getting it was 1.5 hours. Ridiculous. Then I get the food home and chicken is burnt. Ordered 25 wings. No butter sauce just grease. The fries were not fresh either. Warmed over and burnt. The celery tasted funny as well. I spent 42.00 for dinner and it was inedible. I do eat here often so I do know how this is supposed to taste. When you eat inside (but who wants to do that when you DO NOT have full service as they used too...you sit down with your plastic containers at the table)If you do the food is FRESH. Maybe the food is cooked fresh on certain days..Take out NOT so much. Could be because of its location on W Colonial. If the location was different like Windermere this would not happen. Service is everything.. The staff used to be caring and helpful. Now they just stand around. What a waste of my money to end up hungry. When done right Flyers is great.. When ordering takeout awful. NOT GOOD AT ALL. Burnt, old, warmed over, greasy food.
This was my first time on the recommendation of my son's coworker. Best suggestion ever. The wings were 100% on point. Nice and crispy and so very flavored. We also got french fries and they were even good. When I want wings I will definitely go to Flyers. The best wings in town.
We stopped here because Flyers had great reviews. We were not disappointed. The wings were extra wet and very flavorful. We received a very generous portion of curly fries with each meal. The chicken sandwich was very tender and tasty. We do not live nearby Flyers Wings & Grill, but if we are ever in the area again, we would certainly stop here to eat.
I don't know how you can mess up deep fried food this badly. Flounder was overcooked and curly fries are just a mushy group of mashed potatoes. Maybe if they took the time spent on the flounder on the fries, everything would have came out better. At least the fries tasted like everything else they cooked.
The wings here are the bomb? We ordered the special with 35 wings, fries and 2 Ap drinks. We almost ate our fingers off they were so good. They are smaller wings, so you don't feel like your eating a science experiment. We got honey BBQ sauce and a dry one, both were so good. And the drinks were good too, a little too much ice but that can be adjusted. The place itself is very casual, we did take out...I would go back again, in fact we thought we didn't order enough wings and wanted to go back the same day
Excellent service provided by the till staff, advising best value for money items on the menu. Got 25 wings, 2 drinks, celery and dip for $34 ?? Can’t get that back in London!
Wings used to be good. I ate twice here while visiting Orlando. The first time I had the wings delivered through Door Dash and they were not fresh. The second time I ate at the restaurant. When placing my order I specifically said not too many drums b/c the first time I had them delivered I received all drums. They still gave me mostly drums. The wings were not fresh and fried too hard. I asked them to remake my wings with a different sauce. They brought them back in less than 5 minutes and they were STILL over fried and tasted old. I have made the decision not to return here. I grew up eating these wings but they are not what they used to be and definitely not worth the price.
Really good wings! We would order here again.
The chicken was fried to my liking and the sauce was just too much - the chicken was drowning in the sauce and it wasn’t in a good way. The fries were absolutely unacceptable - really soggy and SOAKED in oil. It felt like our fries were soaking in oil right before they plated it to give out. . . Worst fries of my life.
