Ever since I was a kid, we had heard stories about El Patron. The magic, the pageantry, the influence over the rich and powerful. The army of minions and mountaintop castles. But, it turns out he was just some dude who made yummy Mexican food. I will say he does whip up a mean Margarita. Also the Pozole was insanely delicious. So there's that. ????
We are been coming to El Patron on every visit to Orlando for years. It's usually been one of our favourite places and we lots of happy memories over the years. However this visit will absolutely be our last. The food has gone downhill while the prices have risen beyond what is reasonable for the quality but that was not the major issue on this occasion. Imagine you are sat at a table at 7.30 on a Thursday night when another customer walks through the restaurant and VOMITS on the floor next to your table splashing onto your feet. Doesn't do much for your appetite as you can imagine. I called our server over and told her what had happened and requested it be cleaned up, which was done. The vomiter then returned to her table to carry on drinking tequila without a word from any member of staff. No one came to our table to see if we needed anything. None of us wanted to finish our food and the meal was ruined. Having raised our disgust with the server not just about what had happened but with the complete lack of action to deal with it the manager knocked 20% off our bill. This didn't even covered the cost of the food we were unable to eat. I realise that the actual event was in not fault the restaurant but when these things happen, because you are serving tequila fights to customers who can't hold their drink, then you need to look after the customers impacted by it. If this had been done we would not have left feeling so upset by it. Families are clearly not their priority.

Great meal! Loved the flights of margaritas! Service was quick and the food was delish! Seemed to be a pretty popular place but we were served quickly.
Came here on a recommendation, well it was OK. Made reservations which was confirmed and screenshoted. Get there we have no reservation under the confirmation number or by employee name…no biggie they fixed the issue once shown. Get seated and two servers argue as to who’s table it was. Finally get drinks and “Patty” serves the drinks and then spilt on on the table, gets another drink for her accident then proceeded to charge us for the drink on the bill. Ordered food it came and was good, not great. Kids asked for more rice instead of beans, never came as requested. In fact she never came back to the table to see if the food was good or we needed anything. Salsa was bland, lacked any flavor and tasted just like crushed tomato….I understand that we’re in a tourist area and most visitors will never come back, but you treat every guest the same. Wife ordered Steak Fajitas.. Came with 2 tortillas only and the cast iron plate wasnt even “sizzling” as the tables around us were, food was warm not hot. Chicken burrito was the only thing that wasn’t messed up. Ordered the Enmoladas.. It was ok, compared to L&J Cafe in El Paso TX which has the best I’ve ever tasted. This is by far not the best nor greatest Mexican food I’ve ate. Quite honestly the best Mexican food is L&J Cafe in El Paso, small quaint and awesome!!! Definitely not the best experience and had to have the bill several times corrected to make it accurate for their mistakes…..sorry won’t be back, nor recommending!!!
I ordered Pollo tacos which were awesome and we got the botana sampler which allowed me to try a few different foods I've never had before which I enjoyed.
Absolutely amazing, authentic Mexican. Our family of five ate here and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The chips and salsa and the rice were also amazing! The service was excellent and our food came out rather quickly. My son already asked if we could come back tomorrow! We will definitely be back here!
