Dharma Southern Kitchen and Valhalla Bakery are both located inside one nicely decorated establishment. I dined here being one of the few places available in Orlando that cater to vegans with amazing food. The cashier Amy is very knowledgeable about the menu and made my dinner better with attentive service as well as recommendations that my non-vegan friends enjoyed as well. Definitely recommend the sprouts and cauliflower. 10/10 would recommend even if you aren’t sure about 100% vegan food, it is delicious!
You’ve got to come to Dharma Southern Kitchen. The outside setting was so nice! The food and service were wonderful!! I’m not even vegan and enjoyed every bit of my food. I even enjoyed my friends Mac and cheese ?I gobbled down my salad and bbq cauliflower (pictures attached). I demolished my kitchen sink cookie before getting a pic. I debated buying another on the way out but new it would be too tempting to not eat a second. We will definitely be back.
Amazing place to eat. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was on point. The staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and were able to answer allergen questions. Kevin was amazing as well. He came to drop off our food at the table and introduced himself to us. My husband has a lot of allergies and this is now on our top 5 places to eat! Also their tea was amazing and the water they have there, I am not kidding, it was the best water I’ve ever had. Thank you for having a place like this.
I have to give this place a very low review because I had been trying to reach someone to place a catering order for over a week and hadn’t received any responses. I called the location in Sanford and was able to speak to a very nice young lady who honestly had no idea how I could communicate with the market on South location. The only email that I had to reach out to was the Catering email address which is on their website. I reached out via Instagram and still no response until after I had already placed the order. Please note: the order consisted of just (1) platter with two of their menu items and (1) 10 person serving of macaroni and cheese. The gentleman who finally took my order was very nice on the phone, but honestly wasn’t well versed on the menu. I had to ask him to please refer to the catering menu so that he was able to read along and understand what it was that I need to order.I paid the $166 invoice and was assured that my order would be ready on Saturday at 11AM as I was simultaneously picking up a Valhalla cake order. My daughter arrived at market on south and they told her that they did not have the order that someone had picked it up the day before? How can somebody pick up my order the day before… the catering order that I placed was to be picked up on Saturday at 11AM not the day before. I got on the phone with a gentleman and I told him that my party started at 1pm and that I needed them to get this order remade so that I would have vegan options for my sister, the bride to be. They absolutely rushed through my order and gave me sandwiches that were burnt to feed to my guests and I could not have been more disappointed. I would try to reach out to the business direct but there are no phone numbers of anyone that will actually pick up the phone. I will be requesting a refund for this entire order. As they made my daughter wait for this order for nearly an hour after pick up time. There is absolutely no excuse for this, if the restaurant cannot handle a small catering order then it is a service and they should not offer. It goes without saying that I will never order any type of Catering from Dixie again.
Despite being fairly busy; it took less than 15 minutes to get my dinner (including the time I waited in line to order)I LOVE this place! Hope I get a chance to return.Got my order to go and I was starving; so I ate a biscuit; that I smeared in gravy and then added a ton of those sausage crumbles (the gravy came in it's own little container and already had cooked in sausages with it) BEFORE I took the pic of my biscuits.Y'all need to try these biscuits and gravy!I have missed this breakfast since becoming a vegan and this. was. worth. the. wait!!!I'm so glad I went with the meal instead of the side. The side order would have been the perfect size for my dinner. But I would have cried to not have any leftovers. And with the meal I was able to get the mashed potatoes. Which were Delicious! Sadly, I ate them on the way so didn't get any pictures of it. Cheesy and flavorful! All the employees seemed to be having a fantastic day and made me feel like I was visiting friends.Thank you Dharma southern kitchen, for an unforgettable dinner! I regret not purchasing one of the extremely tempting treats even though I have no room left for it.
We have been here about three times now. This is my first time having breakfast. I honestly was pleasantly surprised with the portion size. It hit the spot. I got the biscuits and gravy. I wasn't a fan of the gravy but still mostly enjoyed my meal. I left stuffed. They definitely do sandwiches great so I'll be back to try the rest of the breakfast items.
I got the burger. It looks great in the photo. It even looks like it could be a burger in person. It tasted god awful. This is not an impossible burger or anything that is trying to simulate the taste of meat. It's designed to look like a hamburger and the taste seems to be the residue of whatever it takes to make plants look like a burger. It's like the people who make these things forgot that people east hamburgers for their taste rather than their look. We got the kids pretend chicken nugget things and mac and cheese. The kids ate the faux chicken. It tasted like hush puppies and who doesn't like that. Daughter said the mac and cheese tasted like peanut butter. She abandoned it. Good description. Oh and I got the mashed potatoes for a side dish and they were pretty bland even with a sauce on top that looked familiar to the sauce on the mac and cheese. I am sitting here 6 hours later and I feel bloated and hot and sweaty. These recipes must just substitute a lot of plant fat for animal proteins. If you think your sin of eating good food is ruining the planet then you can take your punishment here.
Very appetizing vegan food. Vegan spicy chicken sandwich taste just like the real thing. They have a great selection of deserts that changes every day. Favorite was the red velvet marshmallows cake and rice crispy oreo.
We went straight from the airport to Market on South for lunch, and it was a smart choice. Market on South has two eateries (Dharma Southern Kitchen and Valhalla Bakery) in a single small, casual location, with seating indoors and out. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food was amazing. From Dharma, we enjoyed the "Orange Bird" sandwich, and "Dharma Fried Chick'n DFC," both recommended by the staff at the register. Both were excellent. My son enjoyed the plant based hot dog. The bakery treats from Valhalla Bakery were all excellent. Buy some to bring home and share with your non-vegan friends too!
Best vegan food and desserts in Orlando!
