Opted to have lunch here on a whim. Hadn`t been for a while and it was just as good as our previous visit. Staff were incredibly busy, but still managed to be friendly and patient with those who were being difficult in front of us. The menu is large and staff are very good with omissions or additions and food is excellent value for the portion sizes. Tater tots are lovely, crispy and boiling hot throughout and both sandwiches we chose came as we asked and were lovely. The whole place was immaculately clean and it was a nice place to eat. Look forward to our next visit in September.
We ate here 2 lunches in a row. the reason was we really liked it and it was a very pleasant place to eat. Maybe it's because it's up the stairs or maybe it's because it's not a big name, but it never seemed to get crowded. We were at the parks during a hot and crowded time, and having a nice cool air-conditioned restaurant with a short line and plenty of seats was such a relief. Plus, everyone liked their food, even the vegetarians.
We stopped in after another restaurant seemed to loose our reservation. We had plans and needed a quick meal, so we stopped here. The sandwiches were very good. I recommend the BLTA and the Pastrami on Rye (New York Style). The sandwiches took awhile, it wasn't quick like a place with burgers under heat lamps. They made the food fresh per order so it did take a few minutes. But the end result is a very tasty sandwich. I would go back again when visiting CityWalk.
Located before paid admission to park up some steps above the donut shop. 12 bucks for a small sandwich served on a metal tray with some wax paper. Ordered the french fries for $2.50 add on. Literally got less than 25 french fries, so it was basically ten cents for each fry. Better options inside the park.
I asked for a sandwich without avocado. It arrived with it. When I took it back, there was no apology or acceptance of a mistake. The lady serving me was rude and told me I did not ask for it without. If she did not hear me say that, fair enough but she should not be accusing paying customers of lying. The food was nice enough but we won't be returning.
We arrived late in Orlando due to an airport delay and we missed our reservations at one of the sit down restaurants. It was after 7:00 p.m. and we decided to try this sandwich shop. We are glad we did. Although the line to order moved slowly, that is about the only negative that I can say. The seating areas were clean and had plenty of tables (most spaced out appropriately). Our food was delivered in a timely manner (which is a great plus at Universal, since most food places are slow.) We were given our drinks at the time we ordered. We had three different sandwiches and all were excellent and the portion was adequate. In addition to the sandwiches, we got tater tots and they were quite delicious and crisp (not soggy) The menu is very large and you can also pretty much order a custom sandwich. The only downfall was that I wanted to try the "Brisket Sandwich" but the cashier told us that they were out of brisket "for the season." Overall a very good choice for a quick meal at Universal. We will visit again.
I was happy that they had gluten free bread available for my Italian Cold Cut sandwich but the bread was a little soggy which was disappointing. However, it overall tasted good so that wasn't a big deal. I also had the tater tots but didn't really like them as they weren't very crispy on the outside and seemed undercooked on the inside. However, I did have some of my great nephew's fries and those were good.
Good sandwiches at a good price. Only place where you can get a good sandwich at a decent price. Most other places charge twice the price and food is not as good.
Bread Box is located kind of in the land of misfit and forgotten toys of Universal Citywalk. Haha. If you see a wide set of stairs, tiers going up with strung lights, you’re headed the right away. It’s tucked up in the corner just before the food court with Moe’s, Burger King and company, and in the same courtyard as the Hart and Huntington Tattoo shop, a fro-yo place, and certainly most memorable, behind Voodoo donuts.Well, bread box serves none other than… sandwiches! Made with bread! Amazing, right? They do have a good variety of flavors considering their main entree is the sandwich, however. There’s also multiple kinds of bread to choose from.I got a ham and cheese with a peach jam inside. Surprised as I was, it was pretty darn good. The sweet of the peach jam actually offset the savory ham and cheese really really well. It’s not a combo I would ever have thought of, but I may have to now!The store itself I absolutely loved. It was decorated in a clever way for a placed named the Bread Box, and we even sat at swinging chairs for our table. My good conscience couldn’t quite give this 5 stars because of how weird (in a bad way) our service was. The cashier woman was clearly new at the job and was struggling, which is easily forgivable. That changes, however, when you are rude about your inability to adjust on the fly. Not cool, man. But yeah if you’re looking for a fairly simple meal close to the Universal Parks but not inside, consult your map for BreadBox!
LOVED! Not many places at city walk are open for lunch, but Bread box is. First time in a while I saw at least four items I wanted. I had the Italian. Loved it
