Service was good but restaurant only had one other party seated. I moved from Chicago and am used to a very good BonChon experience. After looking over the menu we ordered to learn that all the items we wanted were not available. It would have been nice if the server pointed out the out-of-stock items when we were seated. The food we did order was good (not great like normal perfectly cooked crispy chicken we like) and took longer than expected to arrive from the kitchen.
I ordered bonchon online and when it got delivered to me the box was all dirty inside and outside from the sauce, also the chicken was still red and undercooked.
I am not the one to complain. I understand in these times it is hard to find employees and a lot of restaurants are short staffed. That said my friend drove 40 minutes to meet me for dinner tonight. We couldn't go to the Bonchon by the airport which closes at 8PM (that's rough). So I told my friend to meet me at the Waterford Lakes location since they closed at 9PM. They were about to seat us then out of nowhere they told me they couldn't take any more guests. Mind you, THIS WAS AT 8:15PM. 45 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING. To me that is unacceptable.
This Bonchon location is alright - service and food wise. The friend chicken is the best item on the menu; it's delicious... Other items on the menu are not that great. The other cooked items feel dry and are not so chewy. For some reason the rice always tastes a little burnt to me.
Had a good experience! The food came out fast and the service was great. The wings and drums were amazing. Perfectly cooked. Only con is they only offer 2 flavors. The noodle soup was ok.
The quality has gone way down. We’ve enjoyed BonChon over the years but like most companies these days, we were served low quality food at a higher price point. The portion of coleslaw I received was a joke and might as well not have been served with my meal. We will not be eating here again.
The chicken wings and drums they served still had blood!!! Crispy on the outside but raw on the inside... yuck!In addition to the raw chicken our server was inattentive and rude. She did not even give us the option to dine in and automatically assumed it was "to go". When we asked if we could dine in, she said "We close at 9. What time is it?" Although we were dining in she did not offer us drinks or offer us plates. We had to ask for waters and she gave it to us in to go cups. We felt ignored and unwanted. When we voiced concern about the bloody chicken, the server was nonchalant. I understand the situation with the chicken can sometimes happen but coupled with the bad service leaves a bad taste in my mouth.I tried to submit to the website you mentioned. It did not go through.
So we were out shopping around Black Friday, and we didn't have time to prepare a meal at home, so we had to try and find something good to eat in the Waterford area. This place had been on our radar for a few years, actually, but we just never made it in. Well, this was our night. We wander in, get seated, and get started. So we order a couple of starters.Shrimp Shumai (Steamed or fried shrimp dumplings drizzled with honey dijon dressing). Very good! We got them fried, per our server's recommendation. There weren't huge pieces of shrimp, but the flavor was perfuse throughout the dumpling. Not too oily. I was a fan.Takoyaki (Fried octopus dumplings drizzled with Japanese mayonnaise, katsu sauce and sprinkled with bonito flakes). This was super interesting. The fritter itself was lovely, with huge chunks of meat in there, and they weren't too chewy. The Japanese mayo just goes good on Everything. And the bonito flakes added a fun texture.Ok, enough fluff. Onto the main event. The Korean Fried Chicken wings (Served with a complimentary side of pickled radish or coleslaw). We got the Half & Half Combo (wings and drums). So we got both flavors, Soy Garlic & Spicy.Yelp, I gotta tell you, I found the best chicken wings in Orlando. I know there are great wing joints out there, but they are not as good as these wings were. These huge, juicy wings were as crispy as crispy could be. And they were sauced so perfectly. Not too little, not too much. Of course, some of the people reading this might think that any of the spicy sauce might be too much. It wasn't ridiculously spicy, but it lingered. The radish helped cool things down a bit. But seriously, I don't think I've been anywhere better for wings. Go check this place out.
While the wings were quite a delicacy IMyself was quite disappointed to find out that I had to have the sauce on my wings. Myself as a person enjoys the art of dipping my wings. But for some reason while I can’t order sauce on the side…I can have sauce in a cup to sample. It’s mind boggling, next time should I just ask for multiple samples? I just think having sauce on the side would be simple and not such a hassle and solve the issue that would keep me from coming back ?
Had probably the most courteous serving staff I've encountered in months. If I lived closer I'd come just for the service.Chicken katsu was delicious and so we're the pot stickers. Slightly pricey but comes with the area.
