Having just walked out of Margaritaville because of appalling customer service, we stumbled upon Big Fire. It was peak dining time and as a party of 8 we weren't optimistic about finding a decent restaurant but these guys were able to accommodate us as a walk-in..... and we're so glad they did. We had a variety of dishes amongst us (including the kids menu) and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food, and the staff were super-friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Decent burgers and atmosphere, good beer but very expensive pint! Would recommend if looking for somewhere on City Walk but better value and food outside the park.
Where do I start? Let’s be fair and start with the positive points. The starter sprouts and cheese fondue were great, very tasty and we all enjoyed picking away and dipping into the cheese. That’s about it…..the rest was a shambles. My daughter ordered the chicken and steak skewers with fries. When it arrived it was 3 pieces of overcooked chicken and potato wedges. We asked why the steak was missing, the waiter replied the 2nd skewer follows on (clearly it was missed). After 10 further minutes our waitress appeared and we explained about the skewer issue, she rectified it in 2 minutes. The beef skewer was terrible, fat gristle obviously from steak off cuts. I personally ordered the T Bone, based on the name of the restaurant and what it is supposed to be excellent at I thought I was in for a treat. I was sadly mistaken. The advertised 24oz weight was closer to 18oz, it was over cooked in places and full of gristle. Very poor steak considering the cost. My son ordered a burger, he did enjoy it but the food was warm rather than hot. My wife ordered the scollops, although plentiful she described them over cooked and tasteless. Overall considering how much we spent ($280) it was poor experience, the steaks are in my opinion low quality and the general service is poor (although this appeared to be kitchen related). If you’re planning a steak in the area I’d save 50% of the money and travel down IDrive to Longhorns Steakhouse, the value for money is excellent and the meals are far tastier. If however you prefer to eat in CityWalk then stick with CowFish for excellent food and Toothsome for the experience (food still good just not CowFish quality).
First off I was very intrigued by the idea of this place, open fire cooking. The steak certainly delivered, it was great and I had zero complaints about it. The sides could be a lot better, they offer smashed potatoes as the main side, they were just ok and certainly did not meet the standard of the steak. Service was top notch our waiter was great, very attentive.
This was our second visit to Big Fire (last time in 2019 and because of Covid and the international travel ban this is the first chance we have had to return) Food is cooked over an open fire like an indoor bar-b-que. It specialises in steaks and burgers but there is a good selection of other meats, fish and vegetarian options. We all went for steak, the children the 4oz ; the wife had the sirloin and I had the fillet mignon All the steaks were cooked medium rare and were lovely and tender, served with char-grilled vegetables and crushed potatoes. The emphasis here is on quality not quantity so you don’t get the usual massive portions but what you do get is really tasty food. My steak was the best I have had in the US cooked to perfection and fantastically tender For dessert one of my daughters had the s’mores and they got to make there own toasted marshmallows over a real fire; they loved it. My other daughter had the apple pie and both myself and my wife had the baked Alaska all were really good We were served by Andrew who was excellent throughout always attentive without being over bearing. If you are looking for a great place to eat on city walk you will not go far wrong with a visit to Big Fire
Service was not good and could not recommend. Mains arrived while we were still eating our starters. We asked them to take mains away, and the same mains were served again to us after another 20 minutes but were cold by then. While serving the cold mains the two staff serving argued with us there was nothing wrong with the food and then insisted we take dirty cutlery from the used starter plates to reuse for the main. After I spoke to our main server she realised what had happened and agreed to replace the food. Restaurant gave a discount for the experience (10%), but the whole experience was unpleasant and embarrassing. Go eat at NBC sports bar down the street, better food and service.
Enough space in between tables to feel comfortable, excellent service, friendly and attentive but not intrusive, and very good food especially the smoked trout and the meat.
We had a great meal! Nice airy restaurant and we were sat by the window! We had a great waiter called Eric who was amazing and made our meal! The food was really good, and came out in a responsible time and all great! Was very expensive for what it is!
Big fire more like little flicker waiter was so rude and whilst the steak was ok the rest of the meal lacked some substance.. I may as well had eastern just steak.. A showcase venue on city walk with all the pizazz but no umphh. Totally under whelming do not bother.. Better places to go and eat on City Walk
Dont go. It took one hour for simple food in an empty restaurant. Imagine it full...Besides that, the food was ok but my daughters meat came almost burned. The only good thing was that my waiter was very polite and tried to help.
