Ok... I have to admit I really don't like Chinese food. Normally, no matter what you order it all seems to taste the same to me. Soy sauce and grease is normally how I feel about it. Tonight, mostly out of exhaustion, I ordered Chinese food for the first time in literally years. I was so surprised by the food. No soy sauce taste, no grease. The beef and broccoli has good texture for both the beef and the broccoli. The chicken fried rice was fantastic... no greasy, soy saucy flavor. It was almost like eating thai fried rice which I generally prefer. Really liked the food! I will actually be back.
Great Chinese food in the states is usually found in the typical Chinatown areas of the more diverse cities, NY, LA, SF, and so on; But if one searches, they can find good Chinese fare in unexpected places. Yummy House is located in a strip mall, but is clean and inviting on the inside. The menu offers up the usual suspects, at an affordable price. As mentioned, numerous entrees are available, including my all time favorite, Kung Pao chicken: And their take on it here is one of the tastier versions I’ve sampled in quite awhile. The slight char of the peanuts and pepper pods separates this dish from your typical Chinese carry out(in which they simply throw the raw peanuts on top, and leave out the pepper pods entirely). Add a few green peppers, and some perfectly cooked rice, and it just comes together. Maybe it’s not the authentic recipe I usually crave, but everything was fresh and tasty. Ordered spring rolls for an appetizer, and was happy with my decision. The added plum sauce for dipping, was the perfect addition. Service was excellent. I sat at the bar, as I usually do when dining alone, with a view of the flat screens over the bar. My waitress kept everything going, glasses full, etc; and brought everything out piping hot. Service gets a 5 as well. Overall, honestly, I’ll admit, I’ve had better Chinese food: And I’ve certainly had it in fancier, and certainly more authentic venues. But Yummy house strikes a nice balance between serving up tasty Chinese fare, serving it hot, and keeping it at an affordable price. The value here is why I’m going with a 5. I just feel that for what I paid, I’d be hard pressed to beat what I received. If you’re looking for something a little different, give this little Asian restaurant a go.
Very nice, comfortable and pleasant restaurant. Food and service are excellent. Very concerning - the credit card bill includes a 20% tip. I was not advised of that in advance. The food bill shows recommended % for tips. But tip was added without my knowledge. Very poor business practice not to advise customers.
Very good variety of Asian food. Reasonable prices. Can choose if you want to have less spicy or extra spicy.
We came here a few days ago and had fried rice, Singapore mein fun and Mongolian beef. All the food was very tasty and the employees were very friendly. Place was nice and clean as well. Food is on the pricey side but we would definitely be back for the good food and service.
The food was so good yesterday we decided to try it again today. And yes its some of the best Asian inspired food I've ever had and the service was quick, friendly and attentive. Highly recommended
Fantastic, scratch-made food and great service! Pricey but worth every penny when compared to a common Chinese takeout or buffet, especially when you consider the portion size. Traveling through Ocala or resident, you have to make at least one stop here for lunch or dinner. Plan for at least an hour though; this place is popular.
We had the Peking duck that was awesome, chicken fried rice was the best I ever had, plain Lomein noodles very good and not greasy, mini spring rolls were yummy and Korean beef very flavorful. And can’t forget the salt and pepper eggplant…. Never had anything like it and it was to die for. Can’t wait to order again!
Found Yummy by luck yesterday, when I was in Ocala. Imagine my surprise by the large variety if dishes. I had the Mongolian Beef which was excellent. Just spicy and so tasty. My friend had Curry Chicken which, like me, she wolfed down. I highly recommend stopping by and having a great meal. Btw, the staff was fun and very professional. Great Food.
In town on business. I eat out a lot. I eat at the Sarasota location and food here was exactly the same high quality. Good, fresh Chinese food is extremely hard to find in FL. I sat at the bar. Very clean and comfortable, super fast service and attention. Beer and wine only at this location. Enjoyed a hot saki. Had the little egg rolls to start. Super hot and crispy. Beef with Chinese greens and mushrooms and the house fried rice. Rice is very light, fresh and flavorful. Not over salted nor a ridiculous nuclear orange color flavored with msg. Highly recommend this location!
