Everyone I know spoke good on this place but I wasn't the slightest impressed. Brisket is as thin as bacon plus it was dry and lean. The pulled pork was probably packaged and reheated. The pulled pork tasted fine but if i had to explain the texture and color I would say it was like wet orangutan hair instead of thich strands of pork. The waitress messed my order up and gave me two servings of the pulled pork (orangutans hair) instead of one being sliced pork but didn't correct it. 3 meat plate with 2 sides and a tea was almost $40.00...
Thier prices were fair; the food was fresh, and service & wait time for food were great! First time guest, and definitely not last. So far, for me personally better than many of the other restaurant this side of Ocala (Cody's included). Must try baby back ribs, and onion appetizer!
I was on the road heading back home and had a taste for some barbeque. I saw this place and decided to stop. I ordered the burnt ends which came with bread and a side. What I received for $16.00 was a joke! The portions was super small and the meat was dry and had no taste. I am really disappointed and will not be back here again!
My husband had a chopped steak - super size portion and cooked exactly like he ordered it. I had a bbq salad - again delicious. They were crowded - so the service wasn’t perfect.
Took my dad there for Father's Day (his favorite place). His meal was great, my meal was great, my sister's meal was great, but my girlfriend's brisket was not very flavorful and it was a very small portion. The hostess was very pleasant despite juggling many tasks to keep things flowing. Our waiter was attentive and did a good job.
On the way back from our family vacation I was craving for some barbecue. Reviews were great and Customer service was amazing at the drive through on 7/5/2020. I really do hate to give their food a 1 star. The food was not good at all. Ordered turnip greens and Mac and cheese, 1/2 and 1/2 ribs.. I was so disappointed and dissatisfied. The greens looked like collards and had no flavor. The Mac and cheese was clearly a frozen or canned item that was bland. The cornbread was hot and moist. It was my favorite thing to eat in my whole platter. I called back the restaurant to make sure I got the right greens and was told it was a canned item and it was indeed turnip greens with some added bacon in it. Mine had pulled pork remnants. We were 6 hours away from home and just spent all that money on 4 meals plus my nephew bought a platter as well. We were hungry and couldn't turn back. Not pleased.
Our first and last visit because for $56 the two small prime ribs shouldn't have been all gristle. Interestingly, the restaurant doesn't have butter, so you better like margarine on your baked potato, and iceberg lettuce for your salad. Overall an underwhelming experience.
This place is pretty lame. The brisket is that pale thin sliced type, like a knock off of Sonny's. My friend got a burger which was one of those prefab Winn Dixie looking things. The entire experience was just below acceptable. My brisket sandwich and fries was $15 honestly I took the time to write this to warn you. I won't be returning.
This place is really good. They have an all you can eat salad bar. I had the brisket and pulled pork and it was amazing. They also have a great selection of BBQ sauces. Highly recommended!
They have the best ribs in Ocala! The staff is friendly and the (free) ice cream cone for dessert is a treat.
