My Husband and I were recently up in the Ocala area for a trip. As vegans, it is an instant anxiety attack whenever we need to travel as it is not easy to find food. I'm SO glad we came across this very awesome diner! Not only do they offer options for us, but they even have a special (and pretty extensive!) vegan menu with mouthwatering breakfast and lunch options. Everything was delicious and we found ourselves ordering extras to hoard in our hotel room to feast on later. Thanks for keeping us fed throughout our trip! We will for sure be back the next time we are up that way. I also appreciated the tagline in the menu "Food for the whole family". That is what it's all about and really hits the nail on the head. Other restaurants could learn a thing or two! Thanks again for the delicious food!
Both me and my boyfriend are vegetarian and visited this lovely diner. It was a nice atmosphere and they have so many different options for vegetarian and vegan folks, with really reasonable prices and great portions. Staff was extremely kind and helpful, especially our server- although we didn't catch her name. We had the sweet potato fries, Vegan Philly Cheesteak & Spuds, and the GA Burger & Vegan Slaw. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked! A must go, please give this place a visit!
First time here and it was definitely worth it! Their vegan menu has a lot of options. I tried the Philly vegan option and it was delicious.
The food is great. We had chicken and waffles. The food is great. Oh they are sooo good diffidently going back for that. The staff is really nice and pleasant the atmosphere of the place is warm and inviting. The place is nice and clean. Come and check this place for yourself.
Friendly good service, excellent food
stopped in here for breakfast, first time here. Ordered the S curve scramble which was pretty good. I opted for sausage gravy rather than the peppered gravy that it comes with… Next time I will order extra gravy because the gravy ran out leaving the biscuit dry, and just a half order of the spuds…the spuds were a generous portion. Food came out quickly, it was tasty enough, service was good, 4 stars instead of 5 is due to an up charge for using my credit card.
I've been looking for somewhere locally that served vegan foods that I can enjoy & also something for my mom to enjoy as well & I found this place & had the pleasure of being served by Maureen who explained my vegan menu & she was also extremely helpful & kind it was indeed a pleasure meeting her & being able to enjoy some good food. I will be returning to try out more items on the vegan menu & Thank you Maureen for letting me keep a menu the smothered stuffer was good but alot of food in one bowl lol I was full quicker than I expected. Oh & those sweet potatoes fries are sooooo good ?? ?
Amazing atmosphere and people working and eating there. Quick seating while they were busy. The server was attentive and friendly. The food was on point. My pancakes were absolutely delicious down to my biscuit and gravy. Will definitely return to try the rest of their menu.

The service and food here is always top notch! If you're vegan or vegetarian, there's a full menu to accommodate your diet and is delicious too! I highly recommend Ocala Downton Diner.
