I'm actually in love with this restaurant the foods from there are really tasty, I hope they don't loose the cookers like some others Haitian restaurants, just pay them so they can stay I don't mind paying an extra $2-$4 for something tasty, I really recommend this place their Oxtail is the best.?
I called to place an order and the lady who answered the phone was so rude she was rushing me off the phone and didn’t even let me finish my order. When I got to the place my food wasn’t even ready after 15mins of being there so I left the restaurant. NEEDS BETTER STAFF!!!
Service here is very horrible!!!! Server is rude and got my order wrong because she was too busy talking to other people when I called. My order was not ready when I got there she didn't tell me anything she just walked to the back and I waited 15 mins then she came back with the wrong rice. I told her again what I wanted. She went and still came back with the wrong rice. Then she tells me that she doesnt have that rice. I specifically said I wanted the the rice with red beans. Plus the fried griot missing flavor need more epis and seasoning and the beans has no flavor.
If it was a 10 ⭐ button this restaurant would certainly get it from me. Food was hot and fresh. Manager was very pleasant. I'm so glad I found a new Haitian restaurant to eat at. I can't wait to visit again next week. I was treated like a customer not a American or Haitian but a customer. I've been to plenty Caribbean restaurants and whatever nationality that restaurant is they treat their own better than anyone. It shouldn't be like that it should you treat everyone the same because we're all paying customers. I'm not just talking Haitian, Bahamian, American etc... We all have a bad habit of doing such. But this restaurant is different. As an American I really felt appreciate for giving my business to this Caribbean establishment. If you're looking for great food and service this restaurant is the place to visit. And my daughter who is picky gave their food a thumbs up.
For the most part I am pretty picky about Haitian Food... and just going out to eat at Haitian restaurants in general. My main frustration is... either the food is good but the service is horrible, the service is great but the food is meh... or if the place has ok service and decent food.. they never have most items on their menu available...With this in mind I've all but given up trying to find a place i love (after some of my favorite places closed) while also being confident that it is a place i can refer ppl to.... that is until today!The food at M&S is great! tastes just like the home cooking I got as a child. The staff is friendly and amazing. The have plenty of room to sit down to eat, as well as take out option. You can even find them on GRUBHUB.We got the griot, oxtail, chicken is sauce/stew chicken, Legume , and the griot. Everything tasted great! I loved the bean sauce provided for the rice... and the pikliz was on point!If you are ever in the East Oakland/ ft laud area I highly recommend as they know what they are doing.
Excellent place to order your Haitian food. I definitely recommend this place. Ingredients are fresh . Omg I tried everything plate of food they sell and their food is a par excellence. Very scrumptious!
H O L Y YUMMY!!! I picked up enough for 15 , portions were plentiful! Everyone went back for seconds and there were leftovers! Super friendly staff. Will be back!

I would hope someone at the restaurant reads the reviews because I know I’m not the first to complain about this. ? PACK THE FOOD PROPERLY! The last thing I want to do after a hard day of work is have to clean up sauce off my flooring due to lazy packaging. Find a better way to pack food that people pay good money for, tonnè!*side note: I’ll never complain about the taste of the food because that would be a complete lie. Your food tastes good, very good. However, I shouldn’t have to clean up dishes and a mess when I’ve ordered takeout…it’s quite frankly the reason why I ordered out so I wouldn’t have to worry about the clean up afterwards, otherwise I would have just cooked ??♀️*
