Ceilito Lindo first opened their doors at the Pompano Beach location on Dixie Hwy in 1985. It was followed by Dos in Lighthouse Point and Tres in Oakland Park. The Lighthouse Point location closed years ago but the Pompano Beach and Oakland Park locations are still going strong.I have been to the Pompano Beach location many times over the years I realized that I had never dined at the Oakland Park location so I headed on over for Cinco de Mayo.This location is much more spacious than the Pompano restaurant. It is newly remodeled after a recent fire and I love the updated interior. It was very busy due to the holiday but i grabbed a Corona from the bar and no problem waiting outside until my table was called.Through the years I have tried many things on the menu like the tacos, taco salad, enchiladas, and burritos but I have an all time favorite order. Sometimes I will start with a margarita when they have a special like tonight when they were offering them for $5 but I always enjoy the gratis chips and two salsa offerings, mild and spicy. Normally I am not a spice person but I prefer the spicy salsa here. I follow that with a cup of their soul restoring chicken soup. When I am sick all I want is an order of their chips and salsa and a bowl of their chicken soup. It is good for whatever ails you. For my main course I order the chicken fajitas. It is always large enough for two to share. if you run out of the tortillas just dig in with the chips. The fajitas always come out sizzling with caramelized meat and vegetables. I have had fajitas at many Mexican restaurants but Cielito Lindo's will always be my all time favorite. If I still have room for dessert you can never go wrong with their fried ice cream.I have so many memories of eating at the Pompano Beach location. It was nice to discover that the Oakland Park location has the same delicious food and good value. Service was on point and I loved my meal. For me, Cielito Lindo never disappoints.
Great Mexican food ~ fresh, tasty and so delicious!
The food there is delicious and the atmosphere is very nice and the place seemed very clean. I went on a Friday night andthere was a wonderful guitarist playing. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about my meal.
So here’s the scoop…. Friendly and fast! Prices … above average for the quality. Quality… below average. Presentation and speed I give an A plus, but I’m always finding the ingredients and flavors are bland! I wouldn’t recommend this place which is a shame because it has potential.
I love this place! I have been for lunch and dinner and the prices are great. The restaurant itself is really cool and super comfortable. The staff is always friendly and there is always someone to help. The good is great and they have such a large selection of yummy Spanish favorites as well.
I think their fajitas are the best in town
We love our Neighborhood go to! Over 30 yrs of delicious! Great service and live music! The remodel only made it better! It's our local gem!
I mean .... C'mon ... The food is absolutely fine, decent portions, the staff nice enough, the Margharita passable ... BUT do you walk out thinking, "OMG ... Abuela outdid herself this time!" .... Ehhhh ... No.It's perfectly tasty suburban ... "mexican?" For super "authentico" flavors, go a little East down the road!
This was a local favorite for a very long time. They closed during covid and recently reopened. Food is still good and they did a nice job on redecorating but that is where it ends. The prices have super jumped. Most places are raising their prices and I get it with the food costs but our two dishes increased by 5 dollars each. On top of that my husband's quantity decreased by almost half. Beyond disappointed. Explains why the parking lot was not full. Won't be going back.
Years ago, we used to come here often, but since we moved, not so much. We always enjoyed their food and during the pandemic, when we were in the area, we noticed they were closed. It must've been closed for a year before we recently saw they were open! We went a few days ago, and we were not disappointed! The food was still amazing and the service was great! They have remodeled inside and it looks very nice! We had a chat with the owner and he was very pleasant. We are glad to see this place is still open because we have missed the food here!
