Steve’s place is a gem, best word. Because it has a homey Mayberry RFD lunch counter, tables and booths - with a waiting line at 6:40PM tonight - a TUESDAY night, RIGHT?A home cooked meal in a home town setting.That almost completes my review, and I do many, but Steve’s Place DESERVES More - You too. The Food is Delicious and the portion sizes are ridiculously large without huge potatoes or other starches. Even more ridiculous, given the above is the LOW PRICES - Yet Quality Food.At $8.99 My BLT Dip was enough for two smaller adult meals - especially if you added a salad or side vegetables À la cart. (Learned me that up in Raleigh Sheriff Taylor!The pork tenderloin sandwich hangs over the plate’s edges and is perfectly slow cooked.BEST “GO-TO” are the BRAISED Chicken WINGS ! 5/6 LARGE Chunky W I N G S $9/10.Braised means an oil laden Pressure Cooker at 500 PSI essentially FLASH FRYING the BIRD !Finally, the PEOPLE / Staff there are genuinely sweet and make you feel like you are visiting an old relatives’ HOME , not BUYING DINNER
Noted for their Broasted Chicken, homemade soups. Love their catfish and Broasted Wings. Everything on their menu is delicious. My husband & I at least once a week!!!
With the ratings so high I had to try it out. The environment is friendly and casual. The BLT Dip is really yummy, comes with a generous portion of fresh bread. Got the Broasted Chicken and was amazed at the amount of chicken I got (definitely leftovers). I wish the green beans were cooked a little more done and had more flavor. If the chicken were marinated in saltwater that would be my only suggestion to make it 5+ stars. We will be back for sure to try more of your menu. Pricing is very reasonable.
Great food, friendly staff, lots of locals seem to eat there-always a good sign. Not a lot of seating, so could be a wait during busy times
We are new to the area and wanted a great carry out food tonight but diner quality… Look no further than Steve’s. Some of the best catfish ever and we loved the Cajun grouper salad. Definitely going to be our go to!
Hoosier pork tenderloin sandwich is a must order item. Best.
Broasted Chicken dinner that is 2nd to none ! And the fish fry dinner was excellent! And last but not least, Debbie Edwards our waitress is simply the best of all time !! Highly recommended !!!
Was wow’d with Sunday breakfast! Apparently, this is the only day you can get breakfast there! 1/2 order of French toast using brioche bread was the best I have ever had! The cheesy grits were smooth and delicious! Eggs were perfect! Had to wait for a table, but was worth this breakfast. Server’s were on top of taking care of us! We will be back and can’t wait to try the broasted chicken! High marks for value and food quality!
