Wow. That was impressively bad. Pork chunks tasted like a grocery store chain brand pre salted marinated pork tender loin. Then boiled and poured onto greasy garlic flavored bread. Funnel cake fries seemed like a great concept but were burnt, maybe cooked in old oil. Take out was quick but food was not good overall.
We came with a group of friends. This place had great food and service. Got to go cups first off because half of us are headed home to Ohio today. The locals come here often, which says a lot, but it was our first time. Recommend a lunch special, ribs and the beans!
Stopped by the smokin pit today and picked up 3 chicken and one turkey Pig Salads, they where amazing. Everyone loved their salads They all had so much chicken / Turkey, the lettuce was fresh and all the other topping where all good. I've never had a bad meal from there.
This was our first time eating here and will not be the last! The food was really good minus the ribs, they were a little tough. The prices were very reasonable and so was the food portions. The staff was very friendly and our server, Shelly was very informative with the menu and was a great server.Again, we will be back for sure. We will definitely recommend this place.
We arrived at lunch hour and although the place was busy, we were seated right away. Our drink order was taken immediately and our server answered questions when delivering our drinks. We had spare rib dinners, which were very reasonably priced and huge, and absolutely loved everything! The ribs were tender and juicy, and I chose black eyed peas, pickled beets and hushpuppies for my sides. The hushpuppies were prepared in the proper southern style and were not sweet! Hubby had the bbq beans, which were delicious, slaw and fries. All the employees we had contact with were very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely go back when we are up that way again.
The food is so good here it melts in your mouth! As you walk up you can smell the barbecue cookin! The staff are friendly and efficient, you can't hear them at all movin around. Tonight the place was pack but it was a quiet, enjoyable, peaceful time.
First off I want to apologize to the owners of this location for not clarifying in my negative review of the now defunct Port Charlotte Smoke’n Pit that I in no way was referring to the N. Fort Myers Smoke’n Pit location. This restaurant is wonderful. The BBQ is about as good as your ever gonna get and the prices are reasonable. The ambience is “old Florida” and I wouldn’t change a thing. I highly recommend dining here rather than a cookie cutter chain BBQ restaurant. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
What happened? I always loved your Pulled Pork Sandwich. It had water running off from every bite (no it wasn’t some sort of cooking flavoring….gross water that made the bun soggy). The side salad was out of a bag with 2 cherry tomatoes thrown in. Thank God the fries were edible. Not coming back. Sad
Great BBQ all around with plenty left overs at reasonable prices. Best Red Beans in town.
The prices are reasonable and the BBQ pulled pork and sliced beef are great. Loved the cashier. (We didn't get her name, but she worked on Tuesday, Feb 8th noonish and deserves a raise.) She was professional, really knows the barbecue there, and treated us with great courtesy and enthusiasm. We ordered to go. Highly recommend this place.
