This place is awesome!!!! Quite pricy but worth it!! Fresh local food with an ever evolving menu!! Well plated and hits all the spots on flavor palate. No one was disappointed with their meal We met one of the owners, Terrence, he came to the table to check and chatted for a few minutes. Told us about who’s the food is sourced and prepared. Very cool guy Wait staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I have been here 3 times, twice in one day!!! Make it in, you won’t be sorry
Great atmosphere!! Always have a great time at The Spot!
Relatively new restaurant that has clearly hit its stride. The ingredients are thoughtfully considered and the dishes are well executed. There are several off-menu specials, which makes me curious to return and see what they come up with next. We were impressed with the service as well. The specials were clearly and thoroughly explained. Drinks never hit empty yet there was never a sense of intrusion. We are not local but we are regular visitors to NSB and I expect we will make it a point to return to The Spott every time we are in town. Keep up the great work and thank you.
Let me start with they advertise the place as a "PUB". Food was great and service was good. The waitress told us of several specials but never indicated pricing. All their steaks we were told were "Prime" and I know those are a better cut of meat but when I received the bill they charged $175 for a Porterhouse! Which BTW is not their most expensive steak. This was ridiculous for a place that advertises their place as a "Pub" on Canal St. in NSB. Let's start with this is not the Ritz, not the same atmosphere, seating and the staff does not dress as you would expect for a fine dining experience. I am sorry but don't list $30 items all over your menu and then have your staff omit to tell patrons the price of special and leave it for us to assume when there is such a disparity. Even the most exclusive restaurants will tell you how much per ounce or the cost for a meal. This was absolutely sneaky and unethical. When we confronted the owner he told us that the steaks were wet aged and dry aged off site hence the cost. Again another fact the waitress neglected to inform us at time of ordering. And one more thing....we ordered a bottle of wine off the menu which we were billed more for than what was printed. Again do the right thing and charge what you advertised and if nothing else print your daily menu or specials as a 5 Star establishment would do or at the very least inform your guests.
My girlfriends and I were in the area recently and read some great reviews, so we decided to drop in and sit at the bar. We ended up having the best time with Melanie! She treated us like locals and gave us great suggestions for the rest of our stay! She had everyone at the bar laughing and engaged .. we ended up leaving with a handful of new friends! Such a fun experience, we will definitely be back.
Absolutely amazing food. Had lunch and dinner(the filet is off the hook). Friendly attentive staff A++
The food is good, ambiance is okay, drinks are great, and the hours are like no other spot in NSB. With that said, $31 plus tax and tip for a grouper fish sandwich is somewhat insane. $42 for a mangrove snapper dinner was not exactly worth the money - don't get me wrong, everything was very good, but more expensive than the fanciest places around town. It's worth a try, maybe you'll feel differently, but for us it was a one and done.
Great atmosphere and extremely friendly and attentive staff.
Great local food and always amazing service.
We LOVE The Spott! It is wonderful! The food is Amazing and the drinks are too. ALL of the Staff has always been informative and very welcoming. The vibe is hip and fun. It’s a bit high energy so it and generally quite busy so it’s not a quiet dining experience but to me this adds to the experience as it’s also great people watching. It’s very conducive to full sized entrée dining or tapas from their extensive appetizer/pre-dining menu. It’s the type of dining experience that fits perfectly into NSB’s foodie experience but you could also find in Chicago,Aspen,Provincetown or Manhattan!
