I've never eaten inside the restaurant, so I can't speak for that aspect. However, takeout from Joey's is a staple in our house. Service time has always been reasonable, even when they are very busy on a Friday or Saturday night. I always get the seafood combo with the fra diavolo (spicy red) sauce. The servings are huge, there is a lot of seafood in it (including massive shrimp) and I have yet to come across a closed mussel or a funky clam. The sauce itself is amazing, spicy, but not too spicy and doesn't distract from the flavor of the sauce. The sliced fresh garlic is great to see as well. The pasta is cooked al dente, so no worries about weak/overcooked noodles. They also handle dietary restrictions well. A family member has a garlic sensitivity and they always make sure to accommodate. All of the above has been consistent as well. I've yet to have a subpar experience with Joey's. If it is more your speed, they have been happy to walk your takeout over to Liquid Garage, so you can enjoy a beer or two while waiting for your food.

Wrote a review for NPR location as well. I love the 2 slices at lunch and they hit the mark. Other than that I would never go back to eat here. First and foremost the seating is awkward at best. And please do not sit in the last row where you can see into the kitchen. I watched these guys reach into the drawer that has the pasta in it and they had no gloves on. And the last time we ate there the garlic knots (after we ate one) we noticed were moldy. The chef came out and apologized a 100 times but hey moldy food is moldy food now matter how small it was. I am sad because this place is close and does have good Alfredo sauce.

So I give every restaurant 3 chances before I leave a review. 3 flops in a row for this spot I had such high hopes for! Sat inside and ordered dinner for 5 of us…The pizza was fine. It really was. I had the pasta with meat sauce. It was terrible. The sauce was so acidic and way undercooked. It tasted like raw tomatoes and ground hamburger. The fried calamari was dry and hard. 2 lay-ups in any Italian spot missed. Don’t even ask about the Alfredo. The next time we order delivery…. 3 pizzas and a Sicilian pie. What a wet, soppy, floppy mess. Joe… cut your mozzarella topping in HALF! You’re not doing us any favors with all that cheese that just wrecks the experience for us, your customer when we open the box! (And you’ll cut food costs)3rd time was also delivery of 3 pies…One pie was burnt on top, the other had so much white flour on the bottom it was inedible….The Sicilian had the pizza box imbedded in it (photo to follow) the garlic knots were totally raw in the middle. $100 order was a total waste of time and money. The place is nice and clean. The people are friendly and work hard. Joeys is constantly busy because of a lack of options for us so maybe they won’t tackle their issues? That can’t last forever for them. I’m even omitting a bunch of stuff because that’s how ridiculous the last few experiences have been. Will I go back for a 4th shot? The consensus with all my neighbors is a big NO.

This is not NY pizza. At first they were good a year ago but within the last two months either they have changed chefs or just don’t care. They overload the regular pie with so much cheese or it comes burnt. Then they had the nerve to increase their prices. I ordered today again to pick up and I received CHEEESEEEEEEE everywhere. It’s very wasteful. So it’s time to try another place that’s real NY pizza!!!!!By the way when you say you’re a NY Pizza be prepared for a NYer to call you out on poor quality food.

Before I submit online reviews I always CALL and to talk to the manager politely to let them know there was an issue with my order so they have a chance to rectify the situation. We order from here 2-3x a month, it's close to home and we like supporting local businesses. The past 3 times that they've messed up our order I call, and they issue a credit for our next order. Apparently this system doesn't exist anymore. We've had pizzas very undercooked and sopping wet, missing items, etc. Quality is very spotty, but when it's good it's great. Thought the issues were growing pains when they first opened, but it's been what, 2 years now?Our order today was a pepperoni pizza and a Greek salad, no olives. Drive home we have a cheese pizza and Greek salad with black olives. Not such a big deal on the olives, but the pizza, no bueno.Call the place and they say they'll remake the pizza if we return it now and wait an additional 30-40 mins. Sorry, kids are starving and smelling pizza already. They offer to refund the $1 topping and want all our info over the phone. This is not how you grow you're customer base. Just remake the pizza you messed up on, or give a credit. Not ordering from here again, not worth the hassle and consistent messed up orders for basic food items.

Authentic Italian Cuisine with a Friendly and Professional Staff!

Ordered take out for our whole office- waitress was super nice and helped me carry out to my car because the order was so large- also food was delicious- I ordered eggplant Parmesan and it was delicious and the portion was huge I had enough for lunch for the next 2 days!! Highly recommend !!!

Fantastic Italian food and pizza. We ordered take out and the food was amazing. We’ve dined in and the food was amazing. The wait staff is friendly and responsive.

I know Joey's Pizza from his original location near Bealls. I was excited to find out he opened a 4th location in Chelsea Plaza, so close to my home. I ordered a pizza for pick up while driving home and arrived on time, but it was a Friday night and the restaurant was hopping. They do a crazy take out business which I was really happy to see. The restaurant was also very busy and the aroma from the kitchen was mouth watering when you're waiting for food. My pizza came hot out of the oven and off I went. It was my boyfriend's first taste of their pizza (meatball and mushroom) and he loved it, saying we have a new pizza place! I highly recommend Joey's and can't wait to go for lunch or dinner.

Make sure you check the quality of the pizza before you leave just picked up pizza 1/19/2022. I did not check the pizza before I left. The bottom of the pizza was burnt.Call back to the restaurant talk to the manager on duty she was very busy only option I had was to drive back to the restaurant and wait for a new pie to be made. I declined that option and and decided to leave an honest review to warn people of the quality of the food that they serve.
