? Carmelita's is an awesome authentic Hispanic restaurant that will give your taste buds an awakening of deep authentic Spanish taste from the cuisines served here. The staff is always nice, very helpful and intentive. It has been here for at least 15+ years, which helps establish its authenticity. Hispanic beers and wine to choose from, also in the back the have a full bar of liquors.Prices are about $10 for most dishes. Which is mediocre but fair these days.. thanks Joe (you know).Anyways, It's always great time here at Carmelita's, food is always spiced just right and cooked to perfection. I never have a doubt about trying a new dish either, everything is killer! ?? ??We try to go at least once every other week! ?
I just cannot believe this. My adult children go here a lot. Every single time I go with them it's horrible. I am so disgusted tonight. I figured, I will just get vegetarian nachos. They cant possibly ruin that. Got this order to go. No salsa, no beans, about a tablespoon chopped scallions 6 black olive slices. Dry and bland. Yup, Carmelitas can even ruin that! I won't ever get anything from them again. This was the last straw.
First the salsa is awesome! If you think it tastes bad then you most likely voted for democrats so you have no taste!
We visited the New Port Richey location and the food was good, but the service did leave something to be desired. The hostess was out it front of the restaurant eating dinner like a patron and seemed annoyed to have to seat us, and the waiter was not on top of things either. This was very unfortunate to experience, as the meal was actually very good. The chips and salsa were delightful, and my fajitas were very good. Because of that, I will give them another try, but with me it will be two strikes and you're out.
Middle of the road , I was most impressed with the waitstaff. Young lady was polite, attentive, and most of all had a sense of humor! I will definitely give the place a second try. Food had ample portions but it was missing that little kick..that extra bit of attention. The place was clean and even had a few customers waiting outside. So all in all, it will get that second try, that second chance at a better rating. Impress me next time people, I think you have the potential!!

First time in this place. As soon as I entered I felt like I was in a Mexican City. The colors of the walls, decorations, the food smell ….Our server Alex was really polite, fun to talk to and knowledgeable of the menu. He recommended the three tacos combo and the avocado salad. Oh boy!!! Delicious. Also Ilianna the bar tender was very nice as well and she made us the BEST strawberry margarita I’ve had in years!!!! Big thanks to all at this place. I’ll be back!!!??
My son and his girlfriend took me here, and I loved it. Authentic Mexican food. Polite servers. Great margaritas! Reasonable prices. I got my Mexican pizza, which I miss since taco bell stopped serving it. You get a lot for your money.
Terrible experience with them while using Uber eats. I ordered some enchiladas paid extra to sub their enchilada sauce for queso, and then ordered a side of tortillas and queso on the side. The tortillas were not in the bag. I called them and spoke with a girl and her response was “well, what do you want ME to do about it? I can refund you for the tortillas.” Not I’m sorry about that or let me see what I can do. So I tell her I have nothing to eat with the queso and she says “I’m not gonna do anything about that you received it” so I ask to speak to the manager and the manager says “I don’t even know why she’d offer to refund you for anything that was an Uber eats order”, then proceeds to COMPLAIN that Uber takes a month and a half to pay them, insinuating since it’ll take a long time to get payment it gives her no motivation to make things right with me. And I explain to her I’m 6 months pregnant and on bed rest hence why I ordered and paid extra with uber and she responds “well contact uber then and let them know there’s nothing I can do for you”. We’ve been here to eat before and the experience was nothing like this. The unprofessionalism from both the hostess and the manager and so rude and no accountability. I will never order from here again. Ridiculous.
