The clam chowder soup is really good. Need I say more. Great tasting seafood. Had the soup and shrimp sandwich. Good studd.
Tried this place for the first time, and I will definitely be back again. For lunch I ordered a bowl of clam chowder, and a couple of appetizers...crab cakes, and popcorn shrimp. The chowder was VERY good...creamy, with nice chunks of clams, and served with crackers. The crab cakes were quite tasty, and had a bit of spice to them...not really hot, but enough that you notice. For dessert I had a slice of Key Lime pie, and it was delicious! This place isn't very big on the inside having a few tables up top, with four more located in a lower section down a short set of steps. However, they also offer outside seating with umbrella covering as well. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff was very friendly, and attentive. If you happen to be in the area, I recommend giving this place a try ?
For such a small place, they make up for it in QUALITY and Quantity of their fare. From the second my wife and I walked in we were welcomed and seat in just a few minutes. Considering how busy they were. Our waiter Bill was the BEST. He knows his product and suggested the perfect pairings for our meal.2 thumbs up& 5 stars
Great lunch at Tony's.My husband loved the clam chowder.Excellent popcorn shrimp and my fish & chips were superb. The cheesecake is to die for.Sam our server made our lunch very special. Everone else was very nice, too.
Had dinner there tonight and very disappointed with the lobster rolls. The quality was ok, but the size of Lobster Roll was very unsatisfactory for the price charged over $25, They should be advertised a mini lobster roll. I guess we were used to a good old CDN Lobster roll on a 12" Bun and loaded with lobster with Miracle Whip salad dressing for about $15 CDN that is $12 US. I would not recommend this item from the menu......likely wouldn't go back. Service was ok but not spectacular and not offered 2nd cokes (this the first time this has happened during stay in Florida).
Visiting Mt. Dora decided to go to Tony's. My husband wanted chowder. Got seafood plates for 2. We are from Cape Cod so picky about our seafood. This was the best in the 6 years I have lived in Floria. Star our server was very busy but was the best.
Very cute atmosphere! We didn't have too much of a wait on account of the cold. I don't much like clam chowder, but I tried my husband's and I quite liked it.He didn't think is was all it's cracked up to be.Lobster bisque was very good. Not the best I've ever had, but on point. Lobster is well blended into the soup, which I like because you taste it in every spoonful. Don't expect lobster chunks, but the flavor is very much there!!We also tried the creole pasta. The sauce was too sweet for my taste, but the shrimp was delicious.Service was not the best, but we've only been once. Our server could have just been really busy, but something was lacking in her demeanor.I'd go back for the bisque. A bowl is a full meal in my opinion, and I did like the setting. Simple, but charming.
A friend from work told me about Tony’s and she highly recommended it. She was right it was delicious. My husband usually eats nothing but fried fish. The adorable waiter brought us a couple samples of the world famous clam chowder. I order the lobster bisque and passed the samples off to him. He ate both of them and ordered a bowl of it. I also got the lobster roll which was definitely worth the price. My husband had fried cod and loved it. I’m Hungarian so I’m very picky about cole slaw but even their cole slaw was amazing. I think it was the manager that came outside where we were seated to check on what we thought about the food and our waiter. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to go after my friends recommendation. Best meal we’ve had in the Lake County area in a long time.
Just discovered Tony's during our visit to Mt. Dora today. The clam chowder was outstanding. The best I've ever had in Florida. Service was friendly and top-notch. Even gave us a complimentary slice of Key Lime Pie for celebrating our wedding anniversary with them.
Even though it'd hardtop pick my favorite thing was the scallops . Everything was amazingly fresh and delicious ..portion size very good for the price ... the lobster bisque the best I've ever had , clam chowder equally good ... Bailey was a sweetheart ?
