The service was very good and the food was great. I had the salmon salad which was very tasty and perfect portions
We went to Frog and Monkey for Fathers Day! Austin was our server and he was on top of everything, even as busy as they were! We were extremely happy with his service and the food was good as well! Great experience!?
Been there quite a few times and you could literally throw a dart at the menu and not be dissapointed. My pretty little wife and I tried the "soup of the moment" yesterday and what a refreshing twist to this place. (Southwestern green chili soup I believe it was called)Absolutely the best southwest style flavor I've had in a light yet hearty dish. Accompanied by homemade tortilla strips.This chef should take a bow! 6 STARS
Edit: Take a look at the petty and unprofessional response from the owners below. If this is how they respond to customer criticism, imagine how terrible they are at running a restaurant and bar. Perhaps the restaurant would be better if the owners spent more time improving the quality and cleanliness of the place and less time replying to reviews in an unhinged manner. I feel sorry for the employees who have to deal with these owners.Won't be coming back. $21 for the "burger of the day" which was just a regular burger with salsa and chorizo; because it was the "special," the price was not advertised until the bill came. That price would be fine if the food was good, but it's utterly mediocre. The drinks are also bad and overpriced. Service people are nice, but the owner doesn't care about keeping any sense of quality. The place seems to get by purely on a gimmick of being the only "basement bar," which, I can tell you adds nothing to the experience-- you're just sitting in a room slightly below the sidewalk. If you are in the area, I would say skip this uninspired, overpriced, dirty den of an establishment and go almost anywhere else-- unless you want to pay Miami prices for fast food-quality meals and drinks. The other restaurants I tried in the area were much better. Go to 1921 or the Goblin Market instead.
This lounge/restaurant is downstairs from the street, which gives it a unique feel. Friendly staff. Great selections of drinks and food. Very reasonable prices.
Our family went to the Frog and Monkey on a Saturday. Our waitress was Ariel and she was experienced, friendly, attentive and overall exceptional. Among us, we had the Portobello Mushroom Sandwich & Portobello Panini. The preparation and taste of the Portobello was amazing. The Lamb Burger was exceptional. The cooking of it was perfect with a charred outside from the grill and a perfect medium cook overall. Add Bacon Jam and the angels are singing. The Turkey and Brie (with apples) was also a hit and a nice creative dish. The Frog and Monkey definitely has a pub feel to it. Initially, we noticed the music was somewhat loud in the bar section. We soon forgot about the music once we started eating our amazing food. This restaurant is worthy of returning to try more menu choices. Exceptional service, food and a good time!
Loved everything about this quaint restaurant/bar. Best fish, shrimp and fries I have had in Florida. I am from the Northeast and haven’t found anything I liked as much as here. Bartender Kayla was exceptional. Professional and personable. Would definitely return.
This is our first time at the Frog and Monkey and although we've known about it for some time, we haven't tried it - until now. The place is located in the basement of the Renaissance building on Donnelly and can be accessed by an elevator. We actually went there to listen to Ricard Lawrence - a local talent - and it turned out great for a lot of reasons. The place is a convivial one, no doubt and as it turns out, the food and service is just as good as the atmosphere. What can you say about a buyer and fries? Evidently more than I thought because I had maybe the best I ever had: hot, tasty and pretty much perfect and my wife really enjoyed the chicken sandwich and salad. They were great. I'm sure that we will make this a regular stop because it's a really good place to go - for many reasons.
Fish and Fish tacos are Excellent. Live music. Small place, we sat a Bar, great service. Typical Bar food, good drink selection. Great place to people watch!
