They were understaffed, because there were plenty of tables available but had to wait 20 min for a table. Waitress did not write order down and did not remember our bacon or the kind of waffles we ordered, so we got plain and had to ask for the fruit post delivery. Also, the blueberry waffle comes with fruit inside, one of the reasons I ordered it, but she said the kitchen was backed up. If this was true, the receipt would have reflected the right order. Also had to request the berry syrup that was supposed to come with the waffles, which do not stay warm long. The blueberry syrup was delicious, the strawberry just okay. The orange juice was great. The food was all good. However, service was not and the bathrooms were a train wreck. No toilet paper, soap. In a restaurant you never want to see no soap because that means the workers making and serving your food cannot clean their hands either. This is a basic hygiene issue and while I normally would rate them very low for this reason, I assume the understaffing is leading to them not servicing the bathroom properly.
I was really excited to try this place out. The wait was a little long but that seems understandable for Sunday, but the service was eh. The hostess was some crotchety older female (maybe that is just her demeanor but it was off-putting to me). Our server was nice but my husband's pancakes were not cooked properly; they were undercooked. She did replace them which was nice because there is no way he was going to eat that or pay for it. I just wanted the check so I could leave. I will not be going back here!!!!
Staff was able to prepare for a large 20 top in advanced and service was fast and polite. Would recommend again for a large group accommodation. When it came to splitting the bill multiple ways, it was no problem, just had to confirm with the server who had what on their order. Very smooth operation. Lastly our 20 top was when they just opened the doors at 7am.
We wanted to try the pancake house on our US trip so we did. To be honest I can’t imagine to be eating this stuff everyday but once was fine?. Expectation met & staff was nice& polite.
Gabriela was very attentive and polite, clean restaurant, better than IHOP, more upscale, but a little more pricey
This place was actually better than IHOP, and the service was inviting and warm.
First of all, I rarely give bad reviews. If somewhere is less than good, I usually just opt to not review a place. In the case of the Pancake House, there were so many issues that I feel management should know about. Also, our family has frequented an Original Pancake House near our hometown, and it is excellent. So, I know this is a local issue. First of all, there is so much dust on everything. The pendant light over our table was just disgusting. The window sill next to our table was equally bad. The place needs a thorough cleaning. Then there was the food - my kid had a side of bacon that was seriously undercooked. It was like they cooked it on one side, but forgot to turn it. My pancakes had a long hair in it, that was clearly not mine. Unfortunately, I had eaten about half of my dish before I realized this - ew! We probably should have spoken to a manager, but we were so disgusted that we paid and left. I know everywhere has staffing issues right now, so I sympathize. However, this was just more than customers should have to tolerate. No, I would not recommend this restaurant until some things are corrected.
Bad hostess (probably this guy was trying to cover the other lady always been super nice)not even greeting you, expecting you to stay outside on a coldest morning in Miami this year while almost all tables are available, it get worse…. When we ask for the manager he literally gives you attitude after keeping you 15 minutes standing by the entrance and because we started to complain he thinks he would punish us by saying now waiting times 20-30 minutes and we have to wait either outside in the cold or standing by the door!Servers are always super friendly and nice and the breakfast is great but they have to get rid of that so called manager!!!
The Original Pancake House on 41st in Doral is a great place to go for a delicious and well prepared breakfast or brunch. I really like their menu and how much they make here. The staff here is very friendly and accommodating to make sure that everything is right.
A had a disagreement with one of the employees and expressed dissatisfaction. I don't think I've experienced a more caring upper management response to my issue in 40+ years of commerce. My issue was resolved. This store is more like family. They care even after the sale! I would highly suggest visiting the 36 th street store before ever buying anything to do with cycling!!
