There Was A No Wait Line,Which Is A Plus!!The Food Was Freshly Cooked And Very Delicious ? And The Waitress Was Amazing!Sadly I Didn't Get Her Name...All The Staff Was Very Friendly!The Parking Was Great,Although There's Extra Parking In The Rear And It's Well Lit...If You Haven't Been There Yet,It's Worth Going ??
First off I enjoyed my experience at The Licking. The only issue I had is that one of waitress promised to seat up ASAP but seated another couple before us. However, another waitress witnessed what happened and addressed the issue by making sure we were seated. If you’re looking for a fancy restaurant than this is not your place. However, the atmosphere was nice & everyone in there was nice. This place is more urban and plays rap music which is ok for me. The food was delicious. I had the lemon pepper wings. They were seasoned and fried to perfection. The mac & cheese was good and flavorful. The candy yams was good. The fried shrimp, fries calamari and fried broccoli was very tasty & fresh. The Lemonades are the best. The mystery drink is my favorite. I definitely would visit again.
Grilled chicken breast was dry and bland. Green beans were extremely salty. Yams were good. Service was good and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The music is loud and there was security/police hanging around but it didn't bother me.

The service was and I imagine will always be amazing. The young lady who received my order was patient, attentive and possessed a very pretty smile. She made me feel as though I was the only customer in the restaurant as I placed my order and as I picked it up to depart. I chose to feast on the grilled snapper, veggie rice and candied yams. ? Two thumbs up. ???? I was extremely satisfied. That was 4hrs ago. I am still filled with greatness.
My daughter and I heard about this place all the way in Dallas. We came to Miami on vacation & couldn’t wait to try it! This place did NOT disappoint. We both had the Steak Alfredo….OMG it was so good! I’m very picky and I had no complaints. The food was excellent, fresh, hot, and seasoned perfectly! Highly recommend! Would’ve given 5 stars, but the bathrooms were terrible. Only negative about the place, which is a big deal, and they should tend to it and keep it clean.
Menu options had great southern soul food choices. Service was efficient. Prices on the menus are outdated or deceptive. Was charged $3 more for each item ordered. When I asked about it, was told by the waitress that it's an ongoing issue that needs to be fixed. Also, I asked for water and was given bottled water for $2.50. Pricing wouldn't be a problem if I had been informed of that up front. It's bad business to operate like that. Want to support such businesses, but can't support those practices.
Very nice place to grab a bite to eat! Husband and I were looking for a locally owned business to support while on vacation. Our server was awesome and the food arrived very quickly! Fresh tasting, hot, and presentation was great! Would absolutely eat here again!
Food was very good also the drinks. Loved the decor of the restaurant. Reasonable price
