Food is usually tasty, service is okay could be better. When our server finally came to us today, she was friendly, professional, and polite. Unfortunately, I ordered wok fried rice and there was a roach like insect in my food. A gentleman came outside to see about my complaint, asked to see the bug, which I pulled off the rice and rested on an onion, he threw the onion in the bushes and offered to make me a fresh plate which I declined, nothing appetizing about finding this.
This used to be the place. I have lived in Miami on and off my entire life. Cantons had the best Honey Chicken; it was our go to Friday night thing. Just came into town for a visit with my father and I decided to take him to Cantons/Sushi Maki for lunch this past week. The Sushi was decent but the Honey Chicken...it tasted like burnt, breaded, chicken bites, I would go as far as to say, two day old chicken nuggets left to stew in honey. This was not the meal I grew up with. I guess that's why Cantons went out of business (is going out of business). I am truly disappointed, the loss of another Miami staple. If you goto Sushi Maki, go for the sushi not the chicken. *Went back today (June 3, 2022) and they comped our entire bill. I talked to the manager and he apologized, he admitted that the Honey Chicken had not been up to par for a long while. I appreciate the honesty and benevolence shown to my father and I today. This simple act will have me coming back again in the very near future. They gets five stars, not for the food, but for their willingness to be be honest and fix what they new was not up to the standard this restaurant in known for.
Love this place! The sushi is amazing, props to the new chef for getting my order as good as always. Shelby is the BEST!!!!! She was very attentive and made my friends and I feel very welcome at the restaurant. Hope when I come back she’s here; our experience was so much better because of her.
Been going to this location for yeeeeears! The service is always great, no matter how busy and I appreciate the time the staff takes to keep you updated when your order is delayed. Great recommendations and better wait staff :)
First. Amazing customer service. Was instantly met and treated with such kindness and taken care of, it was great. The restaurant was very clean and well put together. Decor 5/5. The food, now that was delicious. I loved the chicken ramen soup. My favorite. I have tried many of the sushi and it always looks so appealing and the look matches the taste. Hands down one of my favorite sushi places to go to, this place right here. Always coming back.
Unfortunately I was taking my food to go but I will definitely dine in next time because as my first time there it did not disappoint. I was greeted by the manager Ricky who made it a very nice experience for me and for the other people that were there.His staff as well.Awesome service.There is a lot to choose from in the menu. I really liked the range of food that is offered to you. Had to take a menu home.Great place
Out walking the place looked nice. My review is mixed! The waitress explained the menu and service was good. In the pandemic two sushi rolls and a soda $16 did not even get filled up! Now a tip. At the beginning I told the waitress a lot of wasbi . When the dish came only a tiny amount I asked again for more she said I have to charge you for more(wow) !!!!! The sushi was good quality. She brought packets of wasabi and said there’s no charge for these. I see why businesses are having difficulty self induced. How much is wasabi prepacket now like ketchup at McDonald’s
Friendly staff, fresh food and fast service! The sashimi lunch was delicious. It came with fried rice, gyoza, cali roll (I think) and a lot of yummy edamame. We also ordered the taro icy blend bubble tea and it tasted great, the boba was cooked perfectly! My bf got the dragon roll and he said it was fire?
I was here about a week ago with my family and a guy named Ricky served us. It was my fathers birthday and his first time eating sushi and our server was able to recommend a dish that ever since that night my fathers been craving (end he’s quite the picky eater). Besides knowing the menu and what to offer, Ricky had a great personality and made sure we were well taken care of during our stay… I just moved to the area and I look forward to sushi maki bring my new sushi spot and of course bringing dad along too! Thanks for excellent service and great food, we will return!
