We loved this authentic and homey experience! Japanese music on the speakers, sitting on the floor (an option we love!), great service. Sushi boat we had was excellent and unlike other places, they didn’t fill in the gaps on the boat with filler. It was a great portion for the price. This would definitely be our favorite place to come if we were in the area more often!

The food here is great but personally the Japanese kitchen food is better than the sushi here.Nonetheless you can't really go wrong with anything here.If you can tolerate it I recommend sitting on the floor cushions as it's something that you normally can't do here in Miami. If you like Japanese food I'd give it a shot and try out the chicken katsu.

Shibui has traditinal tatami seating on the second floor which I highly recommend. However if you are not used to it or have hip/knee issues it can be uncomfortable but they do offer regular tables on the first floor. It can get very busy for dinner so it helps to have reservations before hand. The food was good with a large selection. I recommend the eggplant appetizer, it was surprisingly delicious. The sushi was fresh, although the sushi rice had a bit more vinegar than some are used to. I recommend Shibui for special occasions as it is a fun experience!

Such sweet servers and attention! They decorated the table for our daughter’s birthday! The food is excellent and presented so well. We will be back! Wecame for the tatami seating (floor seating) and we really enjoyed that experience. The place was packed and every table was filled. What a great experience! Thank you Shibui!

I absolutely love this spot. this is a hidden gem in Kendall area which i recommend anyone to come try out. the food is amazing. the staff offers the best customer service. the prices are reasonable. my favorite part was that we were able to sit on the floor. heads up though dress comfy i wore a dress & heels and was kind of over dressed for this spot. next time ill wear joggers and a tee.

Great staff, very attentive. We had reservations as the place was very busy. Honestly, it could use some upgrading but after surviving COVID, I'm gonna give them some grace. Food was yummy. Tried the stir fry with scallops. I also got to try Mango sake which was delicious.

This is a place to go, traditional Japanese restaurant, Soups are amazing, and I recommend the conc salad, and tunara or salmon salad as well. The special sushi are amazing specially the Dragon crunchy. 100% recommended

Not what it used to be. I ordered a simple roll. The presence of Vinegar was overwhelming in my sushi. I came with a craving and I’m leaving with that craving and dissatisfied. The Miso soup, didn’t have seaweed and tofu was hard. We ordered a combination dish with the 4 pieces of sashimi, the tuna came out brown. They served us old tuna. For a restaurant claiming authentic Japanese cuisine, it seems they have missed the mark and strayed far away from it. Even if the environment is traditional, looks can be deceiving. Our server was okay(she was here in the beginning when our food arrived and after that, just disappeared)(I say “okay” only because she was very accommodating to my preferences for food). We also did not receive a refill on water during our entire dining trip. At most what you can receive from Shibui are some cute pictures. I feel bad in writing this, because I really did use to like this place. But I think tonight was unfortunately my last time I’ll be coming back. I feel there are better options for price, quality and portions. All in all, I could have been more ruthless in my review. But shibui can just be summed up as just another “whatever”. It just ruined my partner and mines evening

Hadn’t been here in years and still happy to say I love it. Downstairs in table seating and upstairs you can sit on the floor, which is very fun. The food is delicious and comes out at a good pace. A lot of alcohol choices to choose from including a lot of food choices. Can’t go wrong here for a Japanese craving.

Always a pleasant place. Went there on a first date and it was a very romantic setting up on the first floor. The food was quite yummy. They have cold cloudy sake… deliciousness.
