We are big fans of San Juan and of Mofongo. This restaurant makes us almost believe we are back in PR. The Mofongo is just great (reliably) as is the Chuleta Kan Kan. There could be more meat and there could be more table space ... but then it would be probably more expensive and had longer waits. They are generally busy and things go fast-paced and service is not always readily available. But if you only come for the food (like us), then it's just right!
Great food and service. We stumbled on this place and found the food to be very good and flavorful. We were a party of 7 and ordered appetizers. There was plenty to share. I would highly recommend eating here.
I have been there few times during the years but today Im writing ✍️ a review. Am talk about my late visits today was Sunday July 31 evening time . Place was full like always and you know that if a place is full food must be good ?. Well we ask for a table for 6 waiting time 1 1/2 hour ?? , but we have your table ready in 45 minutes. As always friendly service you need to scan a QR CODE for menu. “ I will attach a picture. Prices for food are displayed next to the name. I order mofongo with ? and salsa criolla . And a coke . Well every body in the table order mofongo different filling like shrimp ?, octopus ?, and carne fríta . We order some piña colada’s in the pineapple and in glass , it don’t take more then 10 minutes to get the order for all , IF you know mofongo and how to make it you know it takes time.. also we have some caldito ? for each mofongo?? .FOOD WAS GOOD?? and in the end waitress came with the check and a shoot of COQUITO ?.Price for food: two mofongos , can of soda , one piña colada in glass was $70 dollars ?. ? + $9 service “tips” a little expensive .Downside bathrooms need and update.

Mofongos on Calle 8 is a great restaurant with an awesome ambiance. Our waitress Yoana was attentive, had great recommendations, and she was so sweet. She made the experience feel like we were eating at a family member’s home. The food was delicious. The alcapurrias are a must have. We tried the mofongos one with churrasco and the other with shrimp and lobster, and they were great. The passion fruit mojito is a must have as well as the pina colada, which is all made with natural juice. Don’t leave without getting the tres leche dessert it’s amazing. Yoana brought us shots of coquito before we left, and it had such a great depth of flavor. We ended up buying two bottles to go. We had such a great experience, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you!

Since the first moment we walked in, the customer service was great! Friendly staff. Our server Kenny G was incredibly! He really went above and beyond for us and recommended a delicious appetizer. The vegetable trifongo was delicious as well. Looking forward to going again.
